So how do you actually make money blogging?

Do you do it by affiliates? I don't quite get it. People say, I make 1$ a day on 50 blogs for example. 1$ on average by affiliates (such as CJ.com, etc) or like AdSense and such?

Do you:

1. Create Blogs
2. Update Blogs
3. Have advertisements, PPC campaigns of sorts (AdWords)
4. Get a few clicks, make a few bucks

What's the simple process behind this? How do you promote your blogs? I've got affiliates down, I just would like to break into this blogging market.

The people who are talking about making a buck a day on a bunch of blogs are most likely doing autoblogging, which involves creating auto-updating blogs on a massive scale that are usually monetized with AdSense. There are a few meaty threads on this forum that provide autoblogging tutorials. (Posts by shylesson and ernesthemingway come to mind.)

It depends on the blogs audience. If you have a blog or a starting a blog it's best to test adsense and affiliate links. Adsense is the simplest way to make cash on a blog because google matches up your blogs content with relevant ads, it just really depends on your niche. Find out what your niche wants, and put it on your blog, in a nutshell.
 
The simple process behind it is:
Find a niche
Do keyword research
Make a blog
Post unique, valuable content that is keyword rich 3-7%
Optimize the blog and rank using something like linkwheel (search for it)
And Have adwords ads on your blog
 
I am trying autoblogging right now. Its quite like an aggregator rather than an autoblog. I will use it to promotr Certain CPA offers and also Adsense.
