to expand a bit:
I get forums, how they work - contribution is needed as well as reading, boards exist for the benefit of everyone, and a side benefit is that board owners make $$$. I get all that. Here's how it is though - you can't be a member of every board going, and contribute equally to all of them, else you'd never get any work done. I read here from time to time, and don't spend very long here - after all my primary purpose is to make money, and while board activity helps, I have to set my parameters for board time/earning accordingly.
This is indeed a great board for info, and most threads I read any input I would have had has already been said, so I don't just post again just to 'contribute' - as I said, thaty's not good board etiquette, and is spammy. I've spent mid $x,xxx here on great services, and that's perfect for what I need - come here, find what I need, pay $$$, and both parties are happy.
My frustration today is I want to spend some more $$$ and can't even post what I need (my test post earlier in this thread, that has been chopped to enable me to figure out that I can't request anyone able to do the work con tact me rather than drop in a 'con tact me' post, where I can't do so.
Bang in the fact that what I need to do is spend an hour seeking out posts so I can add something that hasn't already been said (unlikely) in order to then give money to already active members of this community, and my frustration gets the better of me (add in I keep having to edit replies atm also).
I have obviously already spent more than what I would have wanted to in terms of time on this thread, but I'm ok with that, as I'm not just posting rubbish, and/or cleverly bumping up my post count with nothing of value in actual biz threads.
Again, some of you will understand this post/thread, and thanks for that. To the drive-by'ers, your 'contributions' are exactly what I try to avoid doing in business threads.
