So has google just stopped updating?

Has anyone experienced the number of back links being frozen? I had cross linked my blogs, so most of my back links are from myself. I reduced that by a ton a month ago, and it's still the same, like it says one site to another is 2,553. I was hoping to reduce what they may perceive as "spam" and "splogs". Am I just F*%cked?

On my webmaster control panel, it shows one of my sites is ranking #240 for a keyword (down from #11!) But when I actually Google it and start counting, it was #36. I have also vastly reduced the number of cross links from my own blogs, but it still shows the same (after 3 months) My conclusion, Google webmaster tools is not updating, and is very inaccurate. I am going to delete my sites from Google, do some monkey wrenching, then resubmit them in a couple of months. I know that may not change the rankings, but I'm curious to see if the control panel info will be the same.

Ya.. competitive markets are definitely "frozen" for weeks, if not months at a time.

I built 100 Tier1 links, then tiered them massively over 3 days... it took ab 3 weeks to see the effect.

Note that the increases were definitely positive, proving (to me at least), that "link velocity" may not be as important as you think.

Yes, I've noticed several of my blogspot tier 1's that where not suppose to show on page one are sitting a few spots behind the moneysite, so for now it's an obvious choice.
