i just did a search on "what is bitcoin", search result in the first 2 pages are all from authority sites that now have a dedicated page to bitcoin. am I missing something?

Sounds to me like quality journalism is winning

Big sites invest in quality. Thats why Authority sites win.

Has anyone using black hat techniques noticed a change?
If so what change and what techniques are you using?

Yeap! Another! Just 2 days ago... Right after the CLS update.

It's called the June 23rd Spam Update.

It is targeted on clearing up spam pages from the search resutls. A 2nd one will be coming next week, along with the 2nd CLS update.

Rankranger and other SERP index are showing orange-red:

So far, no fluctuations on my end. Still seeing parasite pages ranking high.

But with the countless number of updates being rolled out, most of us just don't care anymore.
I agree Google spent so much time trying to keep websites out of their search engine that I find better search results from Bing.

I never said a big site was losing. There are big sites with bad journalism treated as authority sites.

Give me an example.
Bad journalism , is a objective opinion in some niches. So i'd love to see and example.

I would first love you to back up your broad statements with some objective examples.

Sure. CNN or VladTV or RollingStones

3 Different sites. 3 Different journalism methods.

Yet they all rank high b/c they make content, with an understanding of their audience.

I would list some other sites, but I can't b/c I work with them. But I see them doing Millions of visits monthly and there's people here who wouldn't know them until they pop up, dominating one of the keywords they been 'trying' to get for the last year ... but always hiring over-done or under-done, yet the same, not-connecting writers

if you have an insight view of their operation, can you explain if they have made any changes to their content creation model based on what google AI has done over the last 2 years? or they pretty much give the middle finger to big G and do what they want to do?

Would love to hear that one too.

Well, I see most of you are not affected by this google core update, but my niche is badly hit by the google algorithm and I am continuously losing my keyword rank as well as visitors.

Have a look at it https://housesofpayne.com/. Is there any suggestion for me?

Each site has a different owner/manager.
I will tell you one thing though... At one pont (if not still), a lot of sites had ties to people who had a strong hand in "click bait stories" on facebook

They had to learn tactics from them in order to up their revenues after things tanked for CPC/CPM rates some years ago

Click-bait stories were more entertaining, retained bigger audiences, had more viral activity........ were worth more money.

I knew a guy who made a killing in that a while back. He taught some others I was closer to, how to do it. Then, those people told me about some of the websites that were dealing with him back door.
