Yeap! Another! Just 2 days ago... Right after the CLS update.

It's called the June 23rd Spam Update.

It is targeted on clearing up spam pages from the search resutls. A 2nd one will be coming next week, along with the 2nd CLS update.

Rankranger and other SERP index are showing orange-red:

So far, no fluctuations on my end. Still seeing parasite pages ranking high.

But with the countless number of updates being rolled out, most of us just don't care anymore.

Too many updates to keep count.

It appears this would be targeted at parasites especially thpse using blasted backlinks

Oh what do they mean by "spam"?! Probably some small business owners? A little motivation for them to give Adwords a try?

My niches are filled with Pinterest social shares in the Top 10. Pinterest took over the fucking serps with their different subdomains jp.pinterest, de.pinterest, it.pinterest, etc. The same goes for Facebook! Thats what I call spam.

Oh come on, a little adwords never hurt anybody! Just give them your credit card details and they'll do everything for you, no need to track or target anything...

I start thinking Google has no idea what they are doing.
SERP has been filled with spam results for months if not years...
In my niche at least, I see a lot of Pinterest pages ranking in top for many keywords, autogenerated content websites also rank well.
I don't see this problem with any other search engine but Google.
Plus, I'm almost 100% nothing will change with this update too.
Aren't they suppose to be the smartest?

They might not consider themselves as the smartest or not being considered as such. But they occupy huge part of SE traffic and end users tend to use them. That is the moment of truth.
But I would agree with you SERP for some niches look really spamy

Completely detest Pinterest in SERPs. How do you beat them? I figure higher word counts and at least 2 images with alternate keyword text.
Not meaning to derail the thread, just curious...

I laugh at these reports.

People are 'poking a tiger' to be trying out low-quality tactic/cheat tactics still.

Whole income gone, because a fast update, when you could have just invested properly your time or money or other resources, to produce a quality website.

Well oh well... Lets see who's stuff goes ghost again in the replies.

I like seeing trash swept out of the Google News results. I see in the Crypto Niche, a lot of sites have popped up. That'll have to be regulated soon.

i just did a search on "what is bitcoin", search result in the first 2 pages are all from authority sites that now have a dedicated page to bitcoin. am I missing something?

So if one of my sites took an incredibly huge hit a couple of days ago would it be the Spam update or the CLS update if you were to take a guess?
