I assume that everyone is starting with a clean slate now?

I used to have a 25 rep, and alot of thanks but now I have 1 thanks..

I feel like what was accomplished before with all the rep and thanks is useless? Am I correct?

Also what does it take to see attachments? Also to access junior vip?

Kind of messed up if all the accolades one has collected to become a respected member at this forum just go out the window..

Yup... I think all of us feel the same as you ... I think I should thank all the guys involve in saving this forum ... Good Job Done ...

You have two now.

All the accolades were pretty much useless anyway, it isn't like it did what this forum is about, putting money in your bank.

You have good points on how the attachments and Jr. VIP will work now though.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the way it's going to work now is people will have to pay/donate to gain access to the Downloads section and Junior VIP. That's the only way it would work, now that Rep is no longer part of the equation. Either that or leave the downloads section wide open and charge for entry into Junior VIP section only.

Hopefully, everyone that already paid or earned their way into the downloads section will be "grandfathered in". Let's just hope that the dickless little script kiddie didn't delete everyone's records. Will have to wait and see once the forum is repaired 100%.

Im thinking of new solutions daily, and moderation is now completly off for the new users.
All credits and other reputation scores are still in the database they are just not showing yet.

Still wondering if its actually worth it now that moderation is not on.

I'm already seeing people abusing the system, spamming their affiliate links directly in posts lol. It was definitely easier to catch people doing it before their posts went live. There will really be no need for rep if the downloads section is either wide open or fee-based.

I'm gathering the site was hacked?

Is this why certain functions are no longer available?

Stupid script kiddies... Think they are hackers.. pfft...

Hackers make the world a better place damnit! We don't destroy things! We CREATE things! We reverse engineer applications and distribute them to the online community! We promote freedom of information, not random, idiotic mayhem!

Damn kids give us a bad name...

You guess right, Evil. And your description of hackers vs script kiddies is DEAD ON!

yep.

by the way, you remind me of a certain someone. I could be wrong -- of course. But have you, by any chance, ever been registered on this forum under another name?

Best wishes,
Sine

So will everyone with rep and what not be required to pay for the download sections?

Hey Sinewave,

In response to your question, I've never been registered on this forum before. Who is it that I remind you of?

I think we should turn off that post moderation thing completely.
And instead we should ask our regular loyal members to report every post that break the TOS or guidelines.
The offenders should be treated harshly. Immediate ban will be good.

This will ceratinly help the community to grow.

Regarding download and VIP section, opening it for every newbie is not good. But also I am against making it 100% paid. Minimum post count will be a good criteria for that.

My $0.02, simple is best. People need to read the rules (we all know no one does anyway, but they've been warned). 1st violation = warning, 2nd violation=ban. Period. No exceptions.

Sounds harsh, but think about it. The rules are simple and for everyone's benefit. If someone can't follow them or is too lazy to read them, too damn bad.

If I break the speed limit and get caught, I get a ticket. Period I was wrong and I know it. No complaints.

I'm with RightStart on this one.

Ignorance of the rules is no excuse for breaking the rules. If you are to damn lazy to take 5 minutes and read the forum rules, don't complain when you get your ass banned for a violation of the rules.

Posting within BHW is a privilege, not a right. With the privilege comes the responsibility of adhering to the rules of the forum. If you cannot adhere to those rules, well, privilege revoked.

Besides, how difficult is it to follow a few rules? I mean, seriously? You could even get away without reading them by simply using a little thing called COMMON SENSE!

Sadly, I find most people to be sorely lacking in the common sense department... It's almost like they were given half a brain or something...

You may remind a few people of an evil seo kid.

I still think the moderated time for new members was, or is, a good idea. A pain for the admin and mods though.

would be nice if it was self moderated like digg is.. so the community at large could thumbs up or thumbs down posts.. if enough people flagged a thread or post with a thumbs down, it would disappear.. sort of like craigslist :)

I don't think Evil_SEO is kingdumb. Evil's command of the English language is far too accurate to be kingdumb.

I agree, but still reminds me of Kinivan De Banned. I won't hold it against Evil though.
