Okay, Im trying to rank this site for buy cd audio books online (dont ask about the keyword client requested it lol)

Anyway I have done massive backlinking to the site, have 2squidoo pages/2wordpress blogs and 2blogger blogs linking and all of them have plenty of blog comments/profiles/bookmarks. The main site has bookmarks/directory submissions/articles/comments (prb stupid idea) supporting it.

Now this is what is annoying me off I made a slideshare page for it and the stupid thing is ranking on the page within 3hours meanwhile I have been backlinking to this page for about 2 weeks...any ideas.

It simlply means slideshare has more authority than ur blog, and now that you have made a page on slideshare that page is using slideshare's authority to beat you.

You dont optimize properties for the same keywords or similar.

You can delete that page or send the traffic to your blog.
 
The Keyword is crap. That's the problem.Your trying to rank a KW that has ZERO searches, which means its gonna rank for related KW's your NOT targeting... and from what I can tell, those KW's are High Competition KW's ....

Yea, aware of how crapy the keyword is. But would the fact that it gets no traffic effect a site ranking for it?
 
No mention of on-page SEO. If on-page SEO doesn't align with off-page SEO then page stays buried. What is kw density? Use of H1 or H2 tags? KWs in page title and url? Sounds to be like you've done more than enough off-page SEO (not sure how long it's been and if Google's found what you created) for a low searched kw phrase but on-page needs to align and be optimized.

The on-page is based around audio books, and the ALT tags for images are the keyword, LSI keywords and then some keywords just on the topic.
 
Dude I think your blog is less preferable than your Slibeshare. that's why its happening. Are you getting paid for ranking the keyword???? Its really joking :P
 
Lmao I actually am, I can rank for harder keywords no problem. Its this one easy keyword that I'm having so much trouble with...so im trying a strat which was posted by a user on here titled: MY SEO BLUEPRINT...see if that works out
 
If you have the about how to do seo then it's okey. Otherwise i think you should work hard to make that happen for your site to gain reputation.
 
My questions:

1) did you sign confidentiality agreements? I would fire my SEO guy if he discussed my keywords on a forum

2) if you are getting clients, it means you are providing SEO services. Shouldn't someone in the position to provide SEO services know the answer to these questions? What would you think if your plumber was like "hold on, I can't fix your toilet until I ask this plumbing forum"?

If I was a plumber and encountered I problem which I have never encountered before, yes I would go to an information source of a community to find out how to fix the problem. Would you just say you can not fix the problem?

LOL, sorry he has a point but give him credit for acting instead of most that just watch and do nothing. Much respect for "give it a TRY" and to me TRY is failing. Failing is good if you learn from your mistakes so make sure you learn from this one. I will learn from this one, that is why I like to read so I may learn from others mistakes to save me time.

If I had an answer I would help but I am still new to SEO as I have read and I am starting to find little tricks that may work for me. I will not know until I learn my tools first and then act on my plan, so much respect for acting on a goal MMElite.
 
Appreciate it, I am not a newbie anymore but I am no expert or professional. You will get there as long as you keep trying at it. Nothing is achieved on the first shot, it is all achieved through hard work and dedication.
