So about that time travel...

don't forget about one thing: today is yesterday's tomorrow :)

nobody teleported from a pub to home/the home of a sexy blonde and can't remember the other day how he got there? that is time travelling at its best :)

Maybe if you weren't sucha negative nancy, you wouldn't have an itrader of -1
what that itrader doing with my post?
so i have a negative itrader and i do not post or not open new threads?
not answer to posts?
dont help people?

i take that as a personal attack..

If I could travel in future, that would be a dog biting it's own tail.

depending on which theory you pay attention to:

1. there are an infinant number of parallel universes. time is not simply a strait line of point a to b, but instead imagine it as a spiderweb, each time ANYTHING occurs, a new branch is created, allowing for a new direction to take place. these branches represent EVERY possible outcome in EVERY situation. for instance, there is a new branch that just formed that is -exactly- like what our universe is, only i spelled the word "ANYTHING" wrong, accidently typed too fast and it came out "ANYTHNIG". EVERY possible variation imaginable is taken place in another branch in this web.

When we "time travel", we are traveling to a alternate universe, one very similar to our own as its "branch" is close to ours, so we don't notice the difference(s) in it.

2. you can only travel back to a point where a time machine was created. if we created a time machine right now, 100 years from now the furthest back we could go is to this very moment, as its the "last stop" on the train that is time travel via our machine

3. Time travel is only possible to go forward. if we move at the speed of light, time for us will stop. to the outsider, we may be in this state for 20, 30, 40 years. but to us it happened in the blink of an eye

4. time is non-existent, you can't travel in non-existent things

Actually, time is a fourth dimension of the universe. Black holes exist because time IS being molded by a super-high gravitational force.

Okay, here's a scenario:

Let's say it's possible to travel in future. I am able to go to, say, 2 days later date from today (Sep 28)

I travel time, and reach Sep 30. I buy a gun, and shoot my past-self.

What happens now?

I just murdered my past, so how can my future exist? Or will my future-self also die?

that's when parallel universes come into the picture, you need to murder all of your pasts, which will be a tedious work, if we suppose those parallel universes are infinite

Seems pretty cool...

But as stupid as it sounds, "If they achieved time travel in the future, why won't people from the future come and help us out with this one":D

Referring to CERN.

They say a time traveler cannot travel past the creation of the time-machine. So maybe when we actually create a successful time travel machine, we will start getting help from future humans.

But what if I kill even a single one? Won't that take the image out of balance? Won't that disturb the nature? How would a parallel universe fill the gap that was created due to killing of my past-self? My family, friends won't see me, because none of me's will be traveling trans-universe. Right?

idk, i guess people die in every parallel universes, on the other hand, 1 compared to infinite is almost negligible, but i don't really believe in parallel universes, so i cannot elaborate further

If they came up with time travel in the future, which has technically already happened, because if it hadn't, then how could they be here if they traveled back, then they would not come back because if they did, they would alter the future.

By coming back and giving us the ability to time travel, they have most likely Michael J. Foxed themselves out of existence.

I kinda believe in parallel universe, but this all makes me go craaaaazzzyyy...

But I was talking of time travel in a single universe. What if, I travel time and come back to Earth and kill me past. That's what I meant. ;)

That happened? LOL.. Never heard anything except skepticism. Do you have any relaible sources confirming time travel did actually happen?

Wasn't there an article somewhere where Albert E. himself made a ship disappear for three minutes? And when it appeared, all the crew members were gone?

4. time is non-existent, you can't travel in non-existent things

things only EXIST because of time. time is the 4th dimension.

I stand by 2 theories at this minute;

1. The idea of going at the speed of light will cause time to appear to stand still. this theory is (to my knowledge) relatively proven, my evidence:

when nasa put a atomic clock in their space station, after 9 months of doing tests, they found that it was 9 seconds slower than the atomic clocks on earth. This is because the space station was travelling and a very high speed for great lengths of time.

2. is the telephone theory, how can you call another telephone when you have the only one that exists. same with time machines, you are unable to go forwards or backwards in time if there is not another time machine to travel to..

but hey, what do i know.. im a lonely internet marketer....

Simple way to explain it !
what if the future doesnt exist !! No time travel then :P

I wish I could travel back in time, and invest in Apple and Make it BIG TIME XD

Unless it is one of those portable time machines that don't require a point B, just like in the FG episode...

I wish I could travel back in time 10 minutes and get those 10 minutes of my life back that I wasted reading all of this.

I don't really believe we exist like this in parallel universes. After all we are just countless number of atoms packed together.

The thing is that particles of atom can exist in multiple places at the same time but that doesn not necessarily mean they are gathered exactly the way they are in this universe.
