SNOWDEN - Official Trailer

Great story and great actors. I bet it will be amazing !

Looking forward to watching it. Let's hope this one is actually good, Hollywood has be turning out some right shit lately

Excuse me if I pass on this one. I have no desire to watch that sorry excuse of human flesh on any screen.

Anyone that's ever worked in the Intelligence field realizes that secrets are secrets for a reason. I just don't understand how some people see this traitor as some kind of hero figure.

Just my opinion, feel free to disagree... but yea, I won't be watching.

For anyone like me who has no idea who snowden is:

Edward Snowden is a 30-year-old whistleblower and former NSA contractor. He left his home in Hawaii in May 2013, travelling to Hong Kong to leak documents to journalist Glenn Greenwald. At the time of his departure from the US, Snowden worked as a Booz Allen Hamilton systems analyst doing contract work for the NSA. The documents he revealed detailed secret NSA programs and capabilities that have been and continue to be used to collect and store personal communications both within the US and abroad.

Looks promising, I will watch it definitely.

I don't know what is the true reason for Snowden to do all the things he has done, but the guy has balls that's for sure.

going to watch definitely, looks good,

Legend.. Good on him for blowing the lid on those "secrets". They're only secrets because the corrupt forces behind them don't want the mass public knowing exactly what shady shit they're up to.

Some of the stuff he blew the lid on is seriously wrong, the public deserved to know.. not that it's made much difference. Super hero in my opinion, wish there was more like him!

I was like: "This looks like a promising movie...".... then Nicolas Cage appeared xD

Love you loads OS, but telling the world the US Government kept a copy of every nude you ever sent was a good deed.

They make him out as a hero, because it makes them feel more important. If the people understand that the various intelligence agencies of the world really didn't give a fuck about them it would make them feel worthless. The NSA at the most, probably has around 50,000 workers just the above 18 population in the USA is around 234.84 million. Which means that every NSA worker is monitoring at least ~4697 persons. And that is assuming that they would all be monitoring people and not taking out code breakers, linguists etc.

If you include all persons in the world that use the internet it would be 1 per 64,000 persons.

There is going to be lots of people employed just to spend all day monitoring High Value persons such as foreign heads of state, foreign military officers, foreign politicians, certain terrorist organisations, events going on in certain parts of the world.

So the 1 to 64,000 skyrockets even further that it would be insane to think the NSA cares about you if your not involved in certain activities or connected to certain persons.

If the movie has any accuracy at all, it won't show a bunch of people listening to random phone calls or reading random texts/emails etc. It is largely the task of very sophisticated computers that look for specific patterns in what is said, how it's said, aggregating all of the texts looking for patterns etc (aka, big data - you can google the term if you're not familiar with it) - and THEN a real person looks at the info.

This is nothing, its much worse shit going on like the poison in your food and air.

And a corporation that's coming close to owning a large majority of the worlds food supply.

But it dosnt matter, people wont do shit to change it.

I'll probably pass honestly, I feel that the directors may try to overblow the whole story for impact.

I won't be seeing the movie.

It's not necessarily because of my views on Snowden, but because these Hollywood films always romanticise the original story to make it appeal more to the ridiculously vivid imaginations of neurotypicals; when it comes to movies, it's not my cup of tea.

Looks awesome. I'm definitely gonna watch it, although I'll be under no illusion that it comes close to depicting the reality of it. As for snowden.. he's a hero!
