It's a not too well-discussed subject on BHW. Probably hypebeast/sneaker subreddits and fashion forums would be a better place to learn about this.

Here's an info product in the niche: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/get-sneaker-riches-by-harlan-kilstein.1232408/ and a guide from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/sneakermarket/comments/71p0i3/the_ultimate_rsneakermartket_selling_guide/

If you're just starting out and have no clue how reselling works, it won't be easy. You need to have fashion sense to determine what will sell, what not. Then you need to be able to actually purchase sneakers, which is often not easy with limited releases. You'll need bots, specific sneaker proxies. The latter is sold on BHW too in the proxies for sale section of the marketppace.

Okay, here it comes mate.

Unless you're into the "culture" yourself, don't even give it a go. If you join the culture for the money, you won't make any.

You won't understand what to buy at all and you'll just be stuck with a ton of stock.

I have been reselling for years now, and it takes years to learn honestly. As @HoNeYBiRD said; you'll need bots, specific sneaker proxies, knowing release times, being up all night long, wait all day for a restock etc.
These bots btw are running from 300€ - 3000€ usually.

You don't really have a Shopify store to resell your shoes when you're starting out, instead get some contacts in the game, or sell to GOAT/Stockx

Well, if you don't want to sell limited release sneakers, hypebeast stuff, that's different. The issue with that is that you won't be able to sell widely available, general release items for more than retail price, so obviously you need to purchase them at a lower price point, to be able to make profit. And you need to factor in the shipping rates too, because big retailers (such as nike.com) often offer free shipping and free returns too.

I don't really get it? So you want to be a sneaker retailer not a reseller? Then that's a completely different story. You need a ton of money for bulk buying, getting contracts, and last but most important marketing.
It's possible, but I have some contacts in that space too, and Nike are really stingy when it comes to handing out contracts and especially giving stores the more limited stuff. They have different tiers for what a store gets in terms of shoes.

Don't really know if it's possible to just build a Shopify store and get Nike/Adidas contracts tbh. But give it a try! :D

You can't dropship authentic sneakers so I'm guessing you're about to scam people, don't do it. Literally everyone will realize once they received the shoes and just chargeback. Then you're stuck with that -$$$ because your supplier won't pay you back.

You just can't mate. You can't get bulk-pricing on shoes if you're just buying one. If you can do it, why would anyone go to the retailers?

They're not authentic mate, you just don't know it.

Forget about it.

You and the other dude just made me realize something. If you niche down far enough it would be highly valuable to get everyone in the industry to run this narrative of basically "the learning curve is too steep, don't even bother, you don't have the resources" etc. I know that's not what you guys were doing but it made me realize that if everyone in a very specific niche did this it would discourage new competitors from taking some of the market, haha.

I honestly don't care if new people start reselling, there are hundreds of thousands doing it at this point, the market is already kind of ruined due to the SaaS marketplaces allowing undercutting.

It's a well-known concept, but as I said, unless you're into the culture - you won't make any money.

Also, I don't think @HoNeYBiRD is even in the space. I think he just done a bit of research himself.

Reddit is not the place where you find info about reselling, in 2017 it was :D

You just said you were going to dropship sneakers? Now you say you're going to resell them? There's a huge difference.

Go ahead; try reselling sneakers, you'll see it's not just buy the shoes and sell for a 200€ profit.

That's not reselling, that's dropshipping.

Trust me; those shoes aren't authentic. But go ahead, go out there and scam some people on eBay! The only one suffering from the consequences will be you :D
