SnapChat Ads Crashes My Sites

Set up new PPC ad campaign on SnapChat ads.

It got approved etc..

The ads started running.

After 5-10minutes my hosts resources all max out, get loads of faults, backend access is blocked, db error etc... but really as resources maxed out it stops access.

Now I switched off SnapChat ads, after a few minutes the resources go back down.

Coincidence?

So i tested this 3 more times. Each time I switch on the SnapChat Ad campaign my resources max and sites crash.

So it is linked to Snapchat ads...

Looking at my site logs everytime I start SnapChat Ad campaign i get lots of request to admin-ajax.php on my site, flagged as 'request probing for vulnerable PHP', then the resources max out and sites go down.

Looking at Snapchat ads, they show the ad, then user swipes up, they then show a webview of your site on the app to the user, could this ne the cause?

So as a workaround I set that site link to another website.

BUT

Id rather have users visit my site as it has all the download links and also better description.

Has anyone else experience this? What is the cause? Is there a fix?

And what is your plan host visitor per second?

its not to do with the amount of clicks, my host can handle much more traffic than snapchat sending.

its the way the are showing or loading the site that is causing this

upon looking into it more, i found the admin-ajax request was being made by GA, specifically there is a gdpr plugin that conditionally adds the GA tracking code to the site when users presses Accept Cookies button

Turn off pre-loading option on your snapads. You site is pre-loading in the background every-time an impression occurs. Even if the user doesn't see your site.

dont use preloading if you have shit shared hosting, you need a dedicated server for that, turn preloading off you should be fine
