Hi everyone. I didn't know where to post this, so i went for the lounge, if it's wrong, just let me know.

I'm looking for an sms payment system that i can use as a POS for offline sales. Something similar to all the sms donations that were around after the Haiti earthquake.

I have a street team that sells items, and I want to be able to use this as a mobile POS system if possible. I have several other applications for it as well. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great, because i can't find what I'm looking for by googling it.

I have a tremendous offline/online hybrid method that I'm working on, and once i have a mobile POS system sorted out, I will post the method after testing and tweaking.

Thanks in advance.

Anybody? I see that people are viewing the thread, but no replies. I would appreciate any information at least to steer me in the right direction please.

If this is an impossibility to set up, let me know that too, and i will find another way.

Thanks in advance again.

Damn, there's gotta be something better than that. The fees can always be passed on to the consumer though.

yes, 10% sounds much better... have you used them before? also, can't find it when i search...

as for txt nation.... the website is mad confusing. I can't find any indication of fees.

Try boku.com

You are definitely right they are great except for one little thing.

The minimum monthly BOKU fee is $1,000

So unless you know what you are doing then it shouldnt really be a problem right?

Yeah a lot of the big firms listed above arent interested in the little guy (boku, zong)

Let me know how you go, I am setting up a similar thing for facilitating payments with mobiles.

Damn I wish I found this thread earlier. I wanna use Fortumo with joomla to make virtual currency. I found an old (estonian) app but doesn't work with the current version of Joomla. For those using Fortumo....how are you doing it?? Hit me up with a PM if you like.

I actually work for one of largest european mobile ASP, and can say 100% that delays in payments are just part of the process - mobile providers pay ASPs in net120 (90 in better case) therefore those companies just follow up with payments towards customers (websites, mobile media companies n shit).

So generally, instead of looking into options which pay net7/15/30 you should better take a look into companies that have better payouts/terms and collect payments as is.

fortumo is good option, or you could just bypass them, and go directly to ASP (fortumo is actually reseller of company I work for, so payouts can be 10-20% bigger if you bypass fortumo). Google for mobile gateways or SMS gateway kws (where I do not recommend BH project for mobile payment since laws n shit are tricky, you can get into REAL big shit of a trouble if you're planning any kind of scam).

There, just few thoughs from my side, might help, I hope.
good luck

Mobilefirst as mentioned above, pays. Been running with them since day 1 :)

They mainly do online goods (virtual shit), but I'm pretty sure you could work something out with them for offline biz.

I hope to revive this thread, now that it's been a few months... are there any new services around that will offer sms payment, preferably which might operate in Canada?
