Is it also good to do WhatsApp messaging as substitute for cold SMS and is there any way to automate that or you're sending messages one by one

It`s all about A/B tests, sometime campaign shows good results, while the other one can show 0 clicks. All about offer quality, attrative text, time you send sms, many important aspects. USA also unstable nowadays, have been working for a long time with US and one thing I want to say, rules changes every days, without exaggeration.

SMS, Whatsapp, Telegram and all the social communication APPS does have pretty significant conversion rates. But i believe the key factor would be the quality of your leads. Why did the leads come from, how accurate it is and is it meant to target a specific niche
