I live in The Netherlands and use some tactics that i learn here on BHW.
What i found that it is a LOT EASIER to use this tactics in The Netherlands...why? BECAUSE it is a SMALL country with only 16 mil. people.

Whats does this mean?
Let do some mathematics

In the US you got a lot of people, but also a lot of IM's webmasters etc. so you have to compete with a lot of IM's in the same field.

In The Netherlands you simply don't have a lot of BH IM's, i know because i know this field for around 10 years, plus most of the people speak english and buy US product$.

So let's say you take Belgium (10 mil people) a lot of them speak french, and start your IM there? or any small country in the world. THis mean less work and you can collect more, just find out what people want...

Thats a very good point here. You should start a journal and just dominate those areas.

Well I have also thought about dominating searches and stuff from my country although I don't really know if we have some article directories and stuff, but I guess I can just target them when they search on english.

Although I don't quite know how to do that(yet) so if anybody could tell me it would help me a lot.

We got bog Dutch video sites, we got dutch social bookmark sites, but you can even use the US sites like digg, blogger, facbook etc. in your own language.

I am in Morocco and i don't know how to monetize that, especially that people here don't buy from INTERNET :S

Lol imagine you could cookie stuff Marktplaats :p They have an affiliate program at Daisycon I believe, but they don't allow HTML in their auctions :o Still waiting for Web 2.0 to come here ;)

It's pretty hard to monetize specific countries using English, but using that country's native language would probably work out better.

What about France? Does it have a lot of competition? I have some cousins there and will move out as soon as I finish college. One question: How can you target your native buyers? If you make a site in french let's say that promotes a french product that pays well how you dominate the market for the targeted people(french people)? Does SEO exists in french? How do you make that if people search in google(or Yahoo or MSN) for a keyword in french and your site will be on the first result? Plz help me since I'll move soon...

Ofcourse there is SEO in french also. You just optimize for the french keywords

If we say there was a tv show in france which was named le merde(the only words I can remember from french)

Then they would search on it and you will then need to optimize for that.

In googles keyword tool you can see what people search for en france you can see what they search for in english.

And if you look at the international english market then just find out what the similar things are called in france and optimize for that.;)

Thank you for the response although I don't know french too well I think I'll use Google Translation Tool. I can't understand something: Where do you see how many people search for a french keyword in google or Yahoo or even MSN? Just type it in french in google keyword tool? Any other way? What about the competition? Just put the french word in google in quotes and see it or should I use hxxp://www.google.fr I never knew the difference between google.com and google.xx(where xx is the country,e.x fr,au,uk,etc)

3rd World Countries is easier even if more population
Most don't know IM

That is said but totally true:o... And most of them don't buy on the net:(. But 3rd World Countries don't have a lot of population so I think it's harder.

Just hire some students for translate articles and other text content in a foreign language.

Yeah that is not the problem the area is...
Large Areas(US)=VERY TOUGH COMPETITION
Small Areas(3rd World)= NO COMPETITION AT ALL BUT NO MANY TARGETED USERS
so the only best area would be a medium one,in my opinion BE and some other populated states, since I live in Europe...

Several clickbank products are popping up in in German and Spanish versions, so I think those countries might be a good target

Yes, it's true that the competition is much less in 3rd world countries for some niches. There are disadvantages though:

Most offers don't convert very well because people don't make enough money to spend it on digital products. The average median household income is almost 1/4 of well developed countries, if not more.

Since people don't make much money, it's harder to sell them something. Most of them are just after freebies. If they like an offer, they first try everything to get it for free. If they can't, then some of them might consider purchasing (if it's a really interesting offer.)

Getting paid is a hassle for most of them. Because either their countries are not supported (can't hook up a bank account with paypal etc.) or, cashing out an affiliate check takes forever for them.

Physical goods usually get stuck in customs most of the time (especially electronics) and they end up paying huge taxes to be able to get it. So usually they just go to the black market and buy them from people who brought it to the country somehow.

Fraudelent orders are highly common and you'll have high charge back rates in some countries.

Just consider these facts before getting your feet wet. I tried this and it just didn't worth my time and my effort. It was just too much headache with poor conversions. Results may vary of course. Just wanted to share my experience.

I totally agree with you. I live in one of these countries and I found 100% correct what you are saying.

France is awfull for IM. There is more webmaster than surfers :D
Nobody give his CC on Internet the most "open minded" will pay by gaypal, and webmaster do very hard seo to win 0,50$ on a phone call billed 3$ to the visitor. Too much propaganda about scam,spam... In france Internet is the place the most dangerous in the world : hacking your computer, rape your child, stole your CB, and kill your favorit artists...
I've tried to e-whore and even pay-per-email doesn't work well.
If U.S. traffic worth 10x other traffic, there is a propose

For the OP - I agree up to a point - We are only 4.5 million in NZ - TOO SMALL for ANY takings. Yes it is easy to dominate the search engines here but we lack - SEARCHERS

Do the sums

50 % of all households here have at least one computer

We have 4.5 million pop and 1 million homes

500,000 have computers
Apparently, according to the GOV stats - 250,000 homes have internet

Of those 250,000 the occupants spend, on average, 1 hour a day online. 48% of that is spent in social sites - like facebook, myspace etc

leaving 52 % ( roughly 125,000) searchers spending a further 35 % of their time in email programs and chat rooms - leaving 15 % of 250,000 online - doing something else

so - 15 % of 250,000 = 37,500 - divided by at least 500 known niches and sub niches =

WOW - a WHOLE 75 people (potential customers) PER NICHE

And how good do I have to be to get a 1 / 20 ratio conversion ??

this means - IF I was THE ONLY person in my country marketing - I would make, per niche - like - 3 sales a day ? - if I was lucky

So to put all this into perspective but asd I said at the start - I agree -

Smaller is better and easier - up to a point !

So - if anyone wants to come over to New Zealand and start dominating our Google Page one - be my guest - I know its not worth the steam off my breath on a foggy morning to try - just too small a market - it is - it really is

I agree with demonist , there is a lot of im in france.
Sometime i discover some new technique from them , they are very clever.
And people in france dont buy as much (example for digital goods) as USA on internet unfortunately.
There is one clone of clickbank with french ebook and i never made a sale !
Most of the people in france are old school , a lot of them are fearing the technology.
But one thing is true, with my broken english i got less people clicking on my adword , so if you use a shitty translator like a french one people are not gonna click on your ad period.

well what I told you about 3rd world countries was better explained by Mr. Ex and I totally agree with him. I have a friend in those countries and he said me the ratio of buying was very very low - 1:100(1 person buys online in 100) can you imagine it? If we get a sale in a month we would be lucky not to mention IM, which most people don't know about...
About France I am very discouraged, since I planned on moving there the next summer. So the best still remains US. I wish I could go there.....
