Hi guys,

I am working on a small website for a small business owner and he offers two services. I am undecided whether to optimise the homepage around the two services and then delve deeper into more micro services connected to these, so essentially the 2 services would only be in the navigation and would not have their own dedicated pages, the homepage would be optimised for both (they are closely related).

My only concern is that then the micro services are not segmented into the two different services - would this matter? I want to avoid conflicts between the homepage and the 2 potential category pages that would be created.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I feel like there are certain cases where this would make sense. I would love to know what industry you are working in to better understand your situation. For instance, plumbing and HVAC, while companies offer both, I would suggest that they be broken-out. Yet, someone who cuts hair but also colors hair could optimize for the two.

(for example) Plumbing & HVAC Company Navigation

Main Page -> Plumbing <-> PVC Pipes
Main Page -> Plumbing <-> Brass Fittings
Main Page -> Plumbing <-> Drain Traps
Main Page -> HVAC <-> Air Compressors
Main Page -> HVAC <-> Refrigerant
Main Page -> HVAC <-> Filters

Just silo them like that. Keep HVAC subcategories pointing back to the HVAC page and other HVAC related products, not to any of the Plumbing products or main plumbing page

Thanks guys it’s for a carpenter and joiner. I was going to have the homepage and then have a carpenter category and a joiner category and then for each one drill down into the different services.
My concern is avoiding issues between the homepage and the 2 categories.
