I am running a very small spam test to setup a much bigger test later this week or next week.

I'll update the thread a couple times over the next week or so if any significant changes happen.

Test Site Stats

Age: 5 month old site

Competition level: Very Difficult

Indexed Pages: 5, all 100% unique and 500+ words per post

Pre Panda and Penguin Rankings: Page 10

Post Panda and Penguin Rankings: Page 5

Last SEO Work Done: January

So this site actually moved up significantly after the most recent updates even though no work has been done to it nearly 4 months.

The Test

20k blog comments via scrapbox using 54 different anchors including more than 30 generic anchors such as "click here".

Day 1

So far today the site has slipped down to page 8. I can't wait to see if this is the beginning of a dance or if I killed a site that Panda and Penguin loved for a grand total of $5.

Day 1 continued... just a few hours later and it is now at pos 147

Update: Still sliding back, now 155.

Day 2

Considering how fast my ranking was dropping yesterday I expected to wake up today and see I had plummeted out of the top 1,000 but I am still holding at 155. I was bouncing around between 55 - 57 before so I wonder if I incurred a -100 penalty or if I'll take another jump at the next data refresh.

I'll update again upon next movement.

Use Xrumer and the DrupalX mod... do it non-stop for a month...

Just wanted to post rather than just hit subscribe to encourage you with your test. I'm curious to see how this turns out.

I am very interested in seeing the results especially after all these Google updates. Subscribed.

Thanks guys. BTW I don't do scrapebox or forum blasts myself. I would be happy to allow this account to be a test dumby starting next week if you want to see what a full month of blasting would do if someone wants to volunteer the resources.

Otherwise, I'll stick with just the one blast and see what the Goog Man does.

I will blast it with scrapebox just pm me urls and keywords..

Im doing a similar thing to a canned projects website i still have.

Prepanda site was about page 10,its a torrent tracker by the way;after panda it went to nr1 for sites main keyword.never had any backlinks done, only about 500social backlinks.

Blasting the hell out of it now.2k edu links and 50k AA list, general spammy thank you for posts comments..will see how it goes.

Wow, that looks interesting! Yeah, I'll get in touch with you next week so you can plug my site in too. Then we can compare results on the two of them.

Yeah would get some pretty interesting results. Cool looking forward to your PM.

Day 2 Update Continued

Amazingly enough, it's started to climb back up. I'm now at 146

Day 3 Update

It's back down to 152 again so it looks like it's probably settled in. I'll update the thread again if there is any significant changes but it looks like the spam blast killed it. That's just amazing for multiple reasons. I never thought I would see Google take it to the point where it would be that easy to kill a site. Absolutely incredible, frustrating and disappointing.

My personal sites are focused in the Weight Loss and Online Money Making niche so competition was brutal enough as it was without having to wonder if someone is going to blow $5 just to take you out.

Now I have to worry about all of my personal clients too as it's apparent they are all sitting targets and I don't know if there is anything I can really do about it if someone decided to attack them. Ugh!

I guess there is nothing I can do to change the environment Google has decided to create though so I'll just keep building quality content and backlinks and let the chips fall where they may.
