Small or large selection of items for ecom business?

Hey everyone,

Wasn't sure where else to post this...

I was just wondering if there was any evidence to back a small or large selection of items for a business? Like, if you were going to start an actual clothing site with a ton of shirts, pants, swimsuits, accessories, etc, is it more difficult to sell this way than say a 1 item or small item store?

There's evidence both ways, but it's niche dependent. Some will also say that a single product website with a white label product will do best.

It all depends on your vision and your level of involvement.

What you could do is fill your store with products but only focus on one or two products for paid ads. Then have a few upsells to go with those main products. This is a good way to maximise returns.
