Ok, I'm new here, but I run a small business that im not really to interested in making money onlind, more just being #1 in a few nitches which would get me way more hits to my site the main nitch the top site only have 104 back links so i figure with some hard work i can come up with more than that. But my real question is the website right now is just static html since i don't do anything online that's all I really need. So would switching to lets say word press and using it as my cms just have a static index page be a better way to optimize it for the web or should i stay with a static html page.

Thanks

It makes no difference, it depends what you need to DO with the website. You can do SEO with html or php.

my friend welcome to the forum:)

to rank high in the search engines 20% is on page seo 80% is off page ie link building

so basically you can keep your site as is and just build links to it..

see who is number 1 for your chosen keyword and get backlinks from the sites that they link to
