Got a random question about naming my business.

If I want to make my name similar to someone else's and I want to just change the last letter to a Z instead of an S, would this be an issue when I go to register it as an LLC?

Example: Competition has solutions in their name, and I want solutionz lol.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think it would be best if you contact the corresponding agency and ask them directly, as different countries/states have different rules.

Why are you sticking with the word solutions?
You can use a synonym can't you?

Absolutely,

I just liked the business name and it included the word solutions in it and wanted to twist it a bit.

If their name is not trademarked/copyrighted you will be fine. Changing solutions to solutionz seems OK, unless the first word is very unique.

meh - If you need this for a real business, come up with something more creative. Everyone will see, where you got your idea from, could backfire on you.

Thanks for the information! I believe it is time to brainstorm and come up with something unique like you all suggested.

Appreciate the assistance.

In my state the SOS office are sticklers and this wouldn't fly.
