Sorry mate - you need to put the crack pipe down and actually talk like a 38 year old. I am not far off that age and to be honest I can understand the chavs that seem to inhabit the wall outside better than what you have typed.

Then do what people have been saying, read the forums - there are hundreds of ideas on how to achieve what you are asking.

No one here will spoon feed you the information especially when you spout crap like you have been doing when people sort of tell you what to do - read!

Now - please follow up with the expected flaming, telling me to eff off etc etc.

Step 1: Do some meta tag reasearch. Figure out what keywords are geared to your site and add them in the <head> section of your page with the correct meta tag code. this is about 1% of the battle.

im not good at computers,i dont build websites,dont know html! My friend has a pre-engineered website that she wants me to help promote! Thats why I am here.
It has no meta tags pre-engineered into it!...My question is this: If I go into my friends website and edit the html on the pages and add meta tags...Will this change the content thats on the page?...in other words if I go into the site and add html in the form of a meta tag saying something like....bah humbug....and add the keywords that meta tagging does... will "bah humbug" be visible on the pages that i added that meta tag to...its a more techi question i know. but i dont wanna screw up the content of the page trying to add something.thats all i wanted to know in myfirst post...sorry i didnt get my point across....hope i did here...thanks for input and all your help!
i cant help the dots but will try to keep them at a minimum...thanks...P

pdean, you sound very childish if i may say so, the reason people hate people asking questions is because the answers are on the forum. Use the search button, it's your best friend.
 
IF you work you must have some money so , you could invest them into something like CS , and ask someone to teach you little bit so you cant go wrong.

Most methods are easy too but its hard to think outside box in most of them :)

I can only hope that if you keep being a douche bag that you don't stay long. That being said, asking about if meta tags will mess up the display of the site here is like going to a rocket scientist and asking if your car needs gas. Oh, and if you don't fuck up when writing the code, they won't show on the page. That's why you don't see them on any site you visit. There are MILLIONS of basic HTML and SEO tutorials out there that will make it much easier for you to read and follow than something posted here. And honestly, if you aren't willing to do the research and work yourself, not many will be willing to help you around here. That's just how it is.

Since I'm feeling kinda helpful, here are a couple links to get you started. Hopefully, you don't need me to read them to you as well.

Yeah you might get a little extra confused around here. Black hat is advanced stuff and might just get you in trouble. I'm not trying to be insulting but you should know how to drive
a car before you go some place teaching installing turbos and nitrous oxide. My biggest recommendation is pick one method of getting traffic; Search Engine Optimization, pay per click, articles,etc. and stick with it. My biggest problem has been going from one thing to the next.
