6.5 to 7 hours, I've been able to survive for weeks with 4 hours daily sleep too before the hallucinations started
Yeah that is the same with me!

I always sleep about 4-5h a day for about 2-6 months and then my body starts telling me to stop and then I start sleeping like 10h lol

I heard about a technique (idk how it is called anymore) where you sleep only for 20min-1h and I heard that you can cut down your sleeping time to about 2-4h a day and be even more productive in life. The only thing that sucks, is that you have to sleep a few times during the day.

However, Einstein and all the "big brainers" have used this technique and imagine sleeping 2-4h every single day for even just one year. Each night that would be at least 2-4h less

4*7= 28 (a week)
28*4= 112 (a month)
112*12= 1,344 (a year)

You would literally safe 1,344h of sleep in one year. Imagine how much more work you can do (or whatever else you want to do lol).

Do that over 10 years and you have 13,440h more of your life than others.

Its called Polyphasic Sleeping

And Older people can do with less sleep, Einstien did the 4 hour sleep thing when he was 180 years old and not when he was younger

When I was younger, I could get by on 4 hours sleep a night, as I got older it increased to 6 then 8 hours, these days my sleep is totally messed up (for a variety of reasons), so I tend to have 3-4 hours at night and then 2-3 hours in the afternoon.

oh man, thanks for contradicting my post above yours almost instantly

I sleep 9 to ten hours generally. I slept even more a few years ago when I was smoking.

About 4ish hours per night and longer on the weekends.

Without sleeping medication, I sleep 5-6 hours.

When I take sleeping medication, I end up sleeping about 7 hours.

Never make yourself doing something you don't want to do. If you have to try-hard to sleep less that will be bad for your health.
Guy who lived over 140 years said that most imporant is to not worry, so relax, dont worry about wasting time, everyone is wasting their time, all the time, can you find someone not wasting their time?
Even doing what you want to do, you are still wasting your time beacuse you could be doing 3 things at once, does that make sense?
Dont worry and relax.

i go to bed at 1 am and get up at 5.30 to 6 am. but i have a nap in the afternoons for an hour in my chair with the newspaper all over the floor :)

Polyphasic sleep is dangerous as shit. Zero REM sleep = eventual hallucinations and crashing your car into a pole. 0/10, would not recommend.

8...

without 8 i got no creativity

and my brain can't function properly

my secret? i put my index finger on the wall, closing my eyes and try to balance it...
i'm aware of my index finger losing it balance slowly and bang! darkness.....

if i just closed my eyes... my mind would randomly thinking about something as the result i cant sleep.. but by using this technique ... my brain will automatically focusing / and try to balance my index finger and it made me easy to sleep

On some new meds atm which are fucking with me. sleeping 3 - 4 hours, would not recommend. if it wasn't for copious amounts of caffeine, nicotine, thc I wouldn't be able to function

Search for "polyphasic sleep".

17 years ago, I slept less than 6 hours per day and took some snaps and it allowed me to study hard - so I got into the university. I didn't know in that time, but what I was doing is called "polyphasic sleep". I read about it and started my own experiment last week.

I should take 4h sleeping and 2 20min snaps, but due to busy routine I slept 3h and had 1-2 30min snaps. But, last night I turned off my alarm and sleep more than 8 hours. :)

I guess you should try "polyphasic sleep" only if you is already using all other productivity tools:
1. Great method / process for organization and productivity (GTD, for instance);
2. 7 habits of hight effective people;
3. Nootropics;
4. Balance between mental, physical and emotional health/energy.

If you don't, you'll be only wasting time and health.

Weekdays I sleep about 4-5 hours a night. Weekends I'll sleep 9-12.

I should probably sleep more, but honestly, I become really productive around 9 pm I've noticed, so I'll ride that out until about 1-2 am.

6-7 hours on average.

People with higher IQ levels tend to need more sleep then the average IQ.
