Hello all,

I am forming a Skype group - strictly for IM purposes. I know in the past people have formed these groups only to have them die, or overcome by questions such as 'how do i make money online?' . Skype is a great resource for people to interact, and as such, I think an active Skype group would be an excellent way for people to discuss their newest ventures, methods and techniques.

This Skype group will be strictly for specific IM purposes. If you plan on asking questions that are easily answered by searching on the forums, your question will be ignored and you will be removed if you continue to abuse the group.

If you would like to join, simply post here with your Skype name. Please be patient, I'm not on the forums 24/7 and as such won't see your request right away.

What a groundbreaking idea! Instead of a normal skype group you're going to form an ACTIVE group? What's the reasons this one wont die comparing to all the other ones?

^ definitely not an attitude like that ! feel free to add me op

Don't worry, I wont be joining. I'm just curious what the difference might be for this one to success compering to all the other ones.
There seems to be no requirements for joining and the solution to keep the chat proffesional is "asking questions that are easily answered by searching on the forums, will be ignored".
In a good chat those questions shouldn't pop up in the first place. And once they do, to often, people will lose interest.

It have happen to me many times that I join those groups and find myself getting friend requests by a bunch of retards who isn't even active in the group and only tries to sell me their service. Add me to a new groups that I'm not even interested in. Getting more requests, and the circle goes on.

Before joining I think it's only fair to ask such a question what makes this group to stand out. Don't you?

It will most likely die due to lack of direction. Creating an "IM group" is like saying you are going to create a "sports team". You're going to gt guys who can pitch a little, people interested in hockey, someone who played tennis once, etc etc. In the end the interests and experience won't relate to each other at all. Focus your intentions on something. The groups that do well together are smaller tightly knit groups of IMs already actively pursuing similar goals. Say you're starting to build some mailing lists, build a group with other people working on mailing so you can bounce ideas off one another regarding optimizing of opt-in pages, details on achieving higher inbox rates and so forth. If you got 20 guys doing a dozen different things, you haven't achieved anything.

You know......if you used the search box you would see that somebody has the groundbreaking idea if forming a Skype group for IM just about every week.

Why dont you all join forces together to form the "IM-MEGASKYPE" Group ! that way theres no way you could be defeated.

Well this is a better approach then just mass adding people who don't want to be involved like someone else done.

Good luck with your Group and hope it works out for you.

There are already a million skype groups from bhw out there. What makes you think yours is any better than the usual crap?

Holy fuck. Sometimes you Jr. VIPs and wannabe IM pros make rage so hard it's unbelievable.

You keep complaining that newbies want anything and everything to be spoon fed to them instead of taking action themselves. Then there are people like OP and everything he wants to do is form a group of people to discuss IM issues. Maybe it's useful, maybe it's not. Maybe it's going to last, maybe the group's going to fall apart within days - but seriously, who the hell cares and why do you people discourage guys like OP for actually doing something productive?
If you don't like the idea then just move on and ignore this thread instead of jerking all over it.

Jeez Louise.. Some people..

So many skype groups out there and most of them are useless, what makes your group different?

Because we have a forum right here were people can learn, exchange ideas...meet people of similiar skills and interests.

If all you are looking to do is drive discussion away from the forum then whats the point of being here ? by the way a few us have been here long enough to see the aftermath of these skype groups that inevitably break up, hence the cynicism.

I'd be interested in joining the group to discuss some ideas of mine. Please add me ; DresdenBHF
