We don't eat while we are sleeping (obviously) so we are technically fasting for 8 hours or so as we sleep. That's why when you wake up and eat food, they call it "breakfast" (breaking the fast).

We've always been taught in schools growing up and from our parents that eating breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I don't know. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't.

I'd say for the past 20+ years, I rarely ate breakfast. I might have a cup of water or some juice or maybe a piece of fruit to go, but I wouldn't sit down at a table and have full plate of food.

Personally, I think the typical "american" breakfast / diet like having toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, add or minus a few other things, is way too heavy. I don't know, maybe it's the leading cause of obesity or maybe it makes you grow taller and stronger, who actually freaking knows?

I've always been a smallish/shorter person for my age compared to my peers at the same age, but I'm sure that is attributed to many factors, and not just what you ate. Mind you, I ate very well growing up and I enjoyed all sorts of foods including meats. Once I left home by college years, that's when I stopped eating breakfast.

I do recall one vivid memory when I slept over my buddies house (we were in elementary school) and in the morning he was eating hamburger steaks for breakfast with ketchup, and his dad was telling me, you gotta eat this stuff to grow big and strong. Hamburger steaks (beef patties) was not a normal breakfast food in my household. As we grew up over the next few years I remember how freakin tall and big he got compared to me and I always thought it had to do with eating hamburger meat for breakfast lol.

Anyways, to this day, I don't eat breakfast. A simple glass of freshly squeeze juice or some fruit seems to be alright....I would prefer not to eat 3 big meals per day but 5 smaller meals...but that's not always convenient and feasible.

I thought the breakfast thing was a myth.

Not sure if it even speeds up metabolism.

Elon musk does not eat breakfast then is good to skip it

I've heard that eating smaller meals and more frequently speeds up your metabolism (or keeps it faster) rather than eating 2 or 3 large meals in one sitting.
It seems to make sense as you are putting less strain and load on your body to digest all that food. I've tried a variation of that in the past and found that it seemed
to hold truth. I felt a lot lighter, more energetic, less fatigue, and I didn't feel bloated or overstuffed after meals. It's a good feeling when you leave a meal and not feel
too full but just satisfied (but still hungry enough that you could eat more if you wanted to).

The downside with this is having to spend more time preparing food, eating food, and a lot of times, our schedules don't allow us to have 5 meals a day. Also, it may not be
as good for the teeth as you are constantly eating small meals and all that food debris stuck on your teeth wouldn't be good all day (unless you brush 5 times a day too, but that too, would not be great for your teeth in the long run).

Same for Bill Gates; he admits it on a Netflix documentary.

Breakfast is a myth like drinking `` 2 liters of liquids `` a day or 8 hours of sleep a night.
But, I guess you can have an @oatmeal :D
