Why is it that the bigger amount of bitcoin which is stolen directly right from exchanges itself or used to launder money from online bank heists, the likelyhood of hackers getting caught gets considerably higher? Lets say 40 million usd worth of bitcoin vs 1 billion usd or more of bitcoin...? Why is this? Why would this be the case?

Greed is the answer. There are risks so they are looking for higher rewards as well.

Because the more a hacker steals bitcoin, the more noticeable it is on the block, making it easier to be tracked.

So even the slickest, clever, stealthiest hackers can get caught but how if mixers and tumblers are employed?

Because larger amounts are harder to hide or move without drawing attention, making it easier for authorities to trace and catch the hackers.

Did you hear about the lubian hack?

If a hacker uses a mixer, it's harder to track.

But it's just going to be difficult, not making tracking 100% impossible.

That’s actually a good point. Bigger hacks attract way more attention from law enforcement and blockchain analysts. When you’re moving hundreds of millions or even a billion in Bitcoin, it’s almost impossible to hide every move is tracked, and exchanges start flagging those wallets fast. Smaller amounts just don’t raise the same alarms

So do you think that there would be an eventual downfall then how come some hackers have been able to pull off such heists? i.e. carbanak or the lubian hack?
