Sites sold on Flippa

I am so confused about some of these sites sold on Flippa.

A PR4 site with under 2000 a month in revenue and 10,000 visits a month goes for 40k

PR5 est 2008 with 145 a month in revenue and 25, 00 visits sells for 25k

What am I missing here?

I have a site that is PR4, 16k pv a month and 1100 a month in revenue from all natural traffic, if I could get 10k, I would sell it in a heartbeat.

What is the deal here?

i was on flippa the other day looking to see about selling one of my sites.
i was wondering the SAME thing.
i saw a few sites that had sold for large sums on the sold page
but that were BACK on the sales page. so im not sure how much of that
i believe over there. now im off to make my own thread about my site...

Depends on a lot of factors; but established sites with a long history of passive income can go for some very nice multiples.

if ur site is making 1k/month steadily.. it would be VERY unwise to sell it for anything less than a years income..
 
I'd rather keep my sites if I can't sell it for at least 16x it's monthly value...
 
No site earns consistent revenue. Actually the better you prepare your listing, the higher chances you get for better price. I have sold site over $40k and you really have quality buyers on flippa.
