I created a blog post yesterday on my Google Sites page and included a link to one of my sites in the article. Today, when I checked SEMrush, it said it is a 'do follow' link.

I thought google sites using nofollow, Have someone tried build backlinks on google sites? I mean domain rating 94 is pretty good :D

I’m not sure, maybe it's because my Google site is old? Try making a new one and see if it's 'do follow,' then let me know.

Wouldn't do much for your site unfortunately. Google sites used to be a great parasite platform, that's what I used it for. But passing link juice? hardly.

I generated fully optimized article with chatgpt but after that i rewrite part of the article with my own words, Paste it on my google sites and put my link naturally in the article.
 
I don't think the backlink would offer any link juice other than manipulating 3rd party metrics like ahrefs, if the link gets indexed, the site alone probably won't do much to your website rankings
