Hello, i have question about sitemap.xml, i have reading an book and they say there, we have to put on the sitemap, only the main urls, mean, the main urls to your content ? i have about 30k pages on my website, its true? or i have to add any single page?

well... you don't have to add all of the url's to the sitemap, just what you 'REALLY' want ranked. Think of your sitemap as the vip list to your site links... Since you have about 30k links, I would put the most recent links on there, along with the main links, like contact us, the home page url, blah blah blah. you get the point hopefully.
You should also look into a script/plugin that will auto update you sitemap.xml with the newest post.

Hello!
I apologize for writing in the old topic, but I don’t think that it’s worth starting a lot with the same name ..
Question
I have a plugin on the WP site - "google sitemap". And there is YOAST-Seo,
both are added to google webmaster.
From the Google plugin, it sees a map ("Successfully"), but indexed - 0 !!!!
At the same time, he sees 400 error-free pages (in another section).

Saytmap from Yoast-Seo, he writes that he is not active at all.

Why do I have 0 pages in a sitemap?

It can be anything.
  • You might be blocking the bots yourself by noindex tag. Either pages or the sitemap file
  • .xml page is blank aka plugin doesn't work
  • Your website is brand new and not trusted by engines
  • It's too soon. If you did this yesterday it's soon to to be expecting any results
I got a feeling it's a technical error

thanks for the answer!!
The site is 3 months old.
there can be no conflict of the plugin from google and yoast-seo?
The number of pages I have identified is 0.
In the "Coverage" of pages without errors - 400.

There actually can be, this might be it.

You are actually second person to report this week that search console doesn't see any URLs in his Yoast sitemap.

It wouldn't be the first time Yoast messed up.

Thanks, I will follow the changes.
Disabled the hands-on sitemap function in the yoast.
you best use 1 or other , yes turn of the yoast sitemap stuff as your using another plugin for sitemap.

Yoast creates one sitemap per type of page and allow you to choose which ones will be auto generated.

you start from the root sitemap /sitemap_index.xml

you will then have a list of sitemaps with different URLs.

ex - /page_sitemap.xml (which is the list of your pages)
/post_sitemap.xml (which is the list of articles)
/category_sitemap.xml (which is the list of auto generated blog category pages).

depending on your WP build and theme, you could have a dozen + type of sitemaps for testimonials, products, services, taxonomies, archives,... list could be way longer...

your only action item is to deactivate empty site maps within the Yoast plugin leaving only requires sitemaps.
