Hi guys. I dont really do flipping low priced sites because of the headaches. I was clearing out my remaining sites and somebody wants to buy them in bulk around 10. I made a video tutorial for buyers to transfer thier own sites but lately I have ran into major tech issues with that method and ended up paying somebody to fix it. My tech guy has just quoted me over $100 to move the sites but that will savage my profits. Is there an ebook or video that I can buy that details the process so I can just give this to the buyer or maybe there is a flipper here that can sell me their guide if they have one. Or if there is an expert than can write one up quickly I'll glady pay. It does'nt make sense to me to keep paying somebody over and over again.

Thanks

Got this sorted. I persuaded the buyer to use my tech guy. I had visions of this guy following my video and messing up all 10 sites and then me having to hit the refund button. Now thats a load of my mind.

Glad that you got it sorted mate.

As for tutorials, ebooks etc. it's a bit problematic as the transfer process depends a whole lot on the specifics of the site and the hosting provider. If both hosting accounts are cpanel, the site is running on wordpress etc. then it's very straightforward (check out this good tutorial by flippa - http://flippa.com/help/transfer-a-wordpress-site) - however the process changes as soon as anything is different (such as one of the hosting accounts not using cpanel, etc.) and it would be impossible to provide a thorough guide that oversees all possible scenarios.

I think you'll be ok for now though as the blog entry I linked to above should apply to at least 70% of situations.

By the way - NEVER, EVER pay anybody $100 for a simple site transfer. Anybody with a little bit of knowledge of this can do it in 10 minutes and by posting a simple [WTH] thread in the 'hire a freelancer' section you can easily find tons of people willing to do the job for $10 or $20.

Cheers,
Bryan

Thanks for providing some solid advice there. Thats one in a long list of reasons why I dont flip low cost sites anymore. If you sell a site for $500 minimum then I dont mind outsourcing the transfer. Ive done tons of transfers myself but lately Ive ran into a lot of tech issues in the last few as Ive mentioned.

The most comprehensive guide to moving sites is here. And it's free. There are links there on how to move Wordpress and Joomla sites as well.
