Over the past 2 months, my url shortening website has began to take off a bit....I'm actually looking at maybe having to get some dedicated hosting in the near future if the growth continues..

Question I have to what next? Continue to try t grow this out or try to sell it off now? That said, I guess I could be jumping the gun a bit and just think it's taking off?

For May, I had 60,000 pageviews and 28,000 users...We shortened over 260,000 URLs in 30 days. 81.27% are unique new users.

It looks like we're hitting about 6,000 uniques a day right now, much coming from social media. There are several forum post by users declaring our site to be the best along w/ bitly

Am I really over thinking this right now?

Continue to grow your website, Don't think about selling think about "how can you increase your revenue ?"

Its hard to monetize a shortener because thats all they want. I wouldn't pay much unless there was some amazing premium features. But you can track on other shorteners, what else can you offer?

Gather more data. Try to monetize it with AdSense/etc and find out your CPM.

If nothing else, the next owner will want this info.

How does one monetize a url shortener? With premium accounts? I'm just curious...

As many times as my websites have danced in the google rankings, I would say that selling is not a bad option either. Whichever feels right for you.

Give your users the opportunity to monetize their links similar to what ad fly does, find some clients that need cheap advertising and take a cut from what your client pays you.

You can never go wrong by continuing to grow your site....imagine if Zuckerberg sold FB 18 months after it launches vs its value at todays prices....Id keep growing it....you can't lose doing this....

I don't see any reason to sell it.

Grow it and keep trying different monetizing strategies.

I you want to sell it then pm me.

how many top country visitors you get on short urls ?

I'd keep growing it. Continue providing a great service and more people will follow.
