Hey guys!

I'm just looking for a little advice on the best type of title to use for a local business website.

Say for example the company is called "New York Florists"

And there are say 2000 monthly searches for "New York Florists"

1000 monthly searches for "New York Flowers" and 1000 monthly searches for "New York Flower Shop"

Would it be ok to have a site title like this:

New York Florists | New York Flowers | New York Flower Shop

Or will I get hit for over optimization?

Just curious.

Thanks a lot guys!!!

Thats the best way to do it. I have a niche amazon website and my title is like this: Best product | Top product | Product reviews. And i rank top 3 for all 3 of them

Thats good, as long is around 60 characters you should be fine.
If you want to rank for other cities add a page , or a subdomain, add content , title tags, pictures, and link it through out

Personally I think it is a bit overkill with the three instances of "New York" in the title.

Also post Panda and Hummingbird, you want to ensure you don't over-optimize any areas of your On-Page SEO, including your meta title.

Instead use this -- -> New York Florists & Flower Shop | brandname.com

Google after some time will recognize the site as a brand and will take the last keyword (brandname.com) and place it in the very front of your meta title, this is a good sign! :)

Totally agree with this mate. Don't over use the same word in title.

I don't think it looks natural enough with too much emphasis on the city keyword. Agree that the best strategy is to simply start a blog and target the primary keywords on each blog post
