site subfolder directs

hello friends, l am using cpanel hosted in hostgator, when l bought this hosting plan l wanted to install my root domain in a subfolder than installing it to public_html and l installed it to public_html/domain.name/ and now l want to install a directory script ( phpld ) to public_html/domain.name/directory/ but my problem is when l try to install the script and when l enter in adress line in explorer domain.com/directory , it redirecting to domain.com/domain.name/directory/
it should be domain.com/directory/ not domain.com/domain.name/directory/
how can l manage it? l need advice. thanks...

I don't think there is anyway to fix this unless you have another domain you can set as your root. Then you need to have HostGator switch them out and then you can add your "domain.name" as an addon domain. I believe this is the only way unless you set up some kind of redirect and complicated mod_rewrite.
