Hi guys,

I have an E-commerce website that is about 6 months old stuck on position 5 page 1 for all main keywords. The competition is similarly small E-commerce sites with very little or duplicate content. I have more links than all of them from PBNs and other pillow links but the site will just not move. Wondering if I should keep building links or try something else? My on page is better than the competition and have more links so a bit stuck on this.

Appreciate the help.

Thanks

I have same problems.. google not loves new players.. same website stay in 1 pages last 3 years.

Any ideas how long the sites above you have been around? How deeply have you analysed them?

Yeah one of the top ones is around 4 years and the other around 3/4.

Happens all the time. Dont worry. As per my experience

1. Keep building guest post links
2. Add new keyword based content every week
3. Interlinking is the key = link your homepage contextually from inner pages of site with targeted keywords as anchors
4. Optimize site speed

Thanks for the advice. I have already done the above.

As the site is not getting enough traffic yet to make sales I am considering going Rogue and building hundreds of links and see if it sinks or swims at this point.

^ Good advice.

If you use ahrefs or other tool, have a look at the historic SERP for your keywords - how stable has it been over the last year or so? And how many topically-relevant pages does your site compared to the others? 6 months isn't long enough to disrupt a stable SERP, so keep at it.

If your keyword is showing on #5page 1, you should analyse the first page ‘s websites and run paid campaign to generate traffic and continue working on off-page activities.

Use Ahref or Semrush tool to analyse competitor’s website. You can also use SEO tools such as RankerX, GSA is the EASIEST way to quickly improve your Google rankings.

Hi, did you check you visitor behaviour? how is your site and competitor sites are doing on that area? Your time to stay and bounce rate is what compare to other. Did you made a heat-map of your landing page. I am almost near to sure you are missing a good design or there must be something which is not catching up the users to stay on your page more than your competitors. There are a lot more then SEO only. Hope this will help.

Try messing around with your metas and titles. Increasing your CTR is the best way to enter the top 3 method I know.

Thanks for the help guys. I just checked my domain age and it is actually 3 years old as I had it up for 6 months (3 years ago) and then took it down and put it back up 6 months ago so age shouldn't be too big a factor.

You mentioned paid traffic, is it that Google gives preference to marketers using their own platform or what?

No I think he means that sites with more traffic can get preferential treatment.

You should destroy first four competitors, then problem with stuck on 5th spot will disappear

Cheers, Greg.

Ahref and Semrush are the guys who all are in better position to tell you some secret.

They are older sites, give more times while keep adding content if possible, interlinking, and build more good links. You are doing a good job thus far, actually.

Get some quality link and more content. Only this is in our control

Tell your wife to frick off, tell her you only went over there because it was her friends house (looks around) ah fook where am I.. And what Is today.... Damn you Russia vodka

Hmm I must of been drunk when I wrote that sorry.

As for your situation OP have you tried marking that page up for ... Rich snippets i think it's called.... Have a thread that mentions it bookmarked I can find when I get back to my PC if you want. A couple people claiming immediately getting a boost in ranking on first page... I'm going to be trying it out and soon as I sober up a bit more :anyway:

In Googles eyes it's only 6 months old. Today it takes time to get into the top 3. It can take up to 2 years to get there in some niches. At the 6 month mark is the typical time to start seeing the best movement.
