Hey Guys,
Just a question about a site I am developing. I have a pretty sweet 6 letter domain that is very very easy to remember. I was originally going to use it for a Huge niche I came across... that should bring in an easy 250k organic hits a month from G. I think I have what is a fairly easy market that I intend to dominate.
Thinking about it though the name is generic enough to potentially become a portal. So I am kind of wondering if I should develop it as such from the get go... because my links will change. I will try to explain.
Current plan
Homepage would simply have 75 links that point to each of my 75 pages dedicated to my current Niche. So the urls will look like this domain.com/keyword1 domain.com/keyword2
If I intend to make this into a portal I will have to do something to this effect niche.domain.com/keyword1 and niche.domain.com/keyword2 so essentially using a subdomain.
Does anyone think it will be harder to rank if I do it the second way or should it behave exactly the same?
The reason I am concerned is because I want the absolute best shot at this niche, should command at a minimum 100k a year if all my numbers are correct. Should cost me 5k - 10k to put it all together.
I'll be going up against some "big" players but they all target one keyword and their sites do not target anything above the primary keyword.
I dont have the experience to know if a sub domain will effect me.. especially when I put the page online... it will be subdomain.domain.com and thats it. No subdomain2 3 4 ect...
Basicly I am worried that 1 link deep vs 2 links deep will have an effect.
Any opinions appreciated... And I know they will be opionions for the most part. This shits hard to nail on the head.
Cheers guys and Enjoy the weekend!
