    coming from google ?

what is wrong with this scenario ?

Completely whitehat site associated with bathroom products.

Monthly search volume is over 75k for this specific keyword/niche.

A top 10 rank with 5-10 visitors a day ONLY ? coming from google ?

    WTF

is it google.com have you got the right figures? or are you on a local site and comparing the .com searches?

If your figures are right id expect atleast 750 hits a month.

Also check on ur competition if the top 5 results are so perfect for the search term it could just be a case that people just dont end up going further.

Think about your title tag wether it is readable and targetting correctly the niche searches.

Look into your description as well and make sure it is targetted to the niche making people want to click and get onto your page.

If you can offer freebies in the description without taking much character space(only 150 characters show on google) This will entice the searcher in.

Ur not the onlyone seeing this, one of my sites is ranked 5 for a kw that draws 6K searches and I am only seeing 2-6/day... some days it won't even get a visit.

I noticed this traffic change on the 4th... I remember that a few weeks ago I was on page 2 and I was getting 10-15 visits/day from google for the same term. At first I thought the site had been sandboxed or something but it is still ranking in the same spot... WTF?

I've checked with different proxies and such and I've been able to confirm that the site is indeed in page 1.... I gotta run some more tests to see WTF is going on with Ggl

Yes, this sort of scenario happened here as well. It is really irritating to see a sudden drop in things. But now everything is well :)

I'm doing some things like commenting on high pr blogs and i'm about to submit an article and spin and all that but it is frustrating as it takes time+effort to achieve the first page of google.. but now no traffic..

I have a couple of house ware related keyword sites. To predict any sort of reliable data, you need to look at:

EXACT searches, then look at the LOCAL number. (it's the smallest one)

IF your #1, expect around 25% of the searches. Spots 2-3 are around 10% - the spots below that are dismal. Others have claimed you get much more if your #1. Not with my numbers. I've had a dozen or so product related sites sit at #1.

The volume of searches is massive, the niche is also massive, even the local searches are huge.. there is no excuse for 6 clicks a day.

We now have 4 sites in the top 10 accross various niche's all with poor traffic

eg hair removal or peritoneal mesothelioma 2 other blogs i have.. or healthy weight loss/weight loss diet 1200k local searches. a #1 listing should yield atleast 20 hits daily min 200 max

did you clear cache, log out google account, clear cookie before changing proxies? if not, the search result remains the same.

One thing I have noticed through all the sites of my clients:
Never trust the Google keyword tool.

They always over inflate the amount of searches to increase the amount of people that buy that keyword.

As an experiment - I found a local niche with 50 exact searches a month (on average) - I then put this phrase into a PPC campaign on exact match - and ensured it had a high quality score and a ridiculously high CPC so it will always be shown.

After one month - 8 impressions (not clicks)!
Made sure to check the Google search tool the month after, for the previous months search volumes (the month I bidded on) and it said 75!

    Just another interesting experiment.

lol at least I wasn't the only one.

Ranked top 10 for the keyword "tooth surgery" once (without quotes), got MAYBE 30 visitors a day. & the keyword had 110,000 monthly searches.

EDIT: What's it say for the title & description of the site on Google? Maybe there's a reason nobody wants to click on it.

Tooth Surgery only shows a 1000 searches per month in the G. Kwd tool on my end, so 30 visits a day would actually be pretty good.

check it out and see why i'm frustrated. i mean the page is usually ranked 1-3 and over 1000 products on there, there is no reason i shouldnt get 1000 hits a day. considering the numerous industries that require bathroom based supplies(construction, hotels etc)

I see your site sitting at #1 when i do a search for "bathroom supply". Here's what I see for "bathroom supply" on my end when I go to the keyword tool. (Exact searches)

That keyword gets 880 PER MONTH, or 30 people per day. What did I say? If you're #1 you'll get 25% of that. (7.5 people per day.) What did you say you get? 5-10 per day? I was right on the fucking money. I rest my case. :p

The problem is you picked the wrong keyword. You really wanted to be ranked for "Bathroom Supplies". (3,000 month/100 per day). Still....that kind of sucks. I won't even think of a niche unless it's 6,000/200 per day and I'll only act on it if it's 12,000/400 day.

I noticed "bathroom faucets" gets 210,000 exact local searches per month. But then who buys bathroom faucets over the internet?

you could also try checking your rank on multiple data centers. Google has started showing pages that are say more local to your ip. But what Im getting at is I've had sites rank 1 for one regional area and not even be listed in other areas.
