Site penalised, but no penalty?

Okay so I woke up this morning to find my site had been totally removed from search, even by doing the site: search it cannot be found.

The site had a few dodgy backlinks but I was already undergoing removal, unfortunately Google got to me before I managed to complete it..

However, I have had no penalty message from Google and there is no manual action in my account? I've added every variation of the domain I can think of to my WMT account but still nothing... Any ideas of what's going on, and more importantly how I can submit a reconsideration?

Wait until you get a message from google, meanwhile remove all the shitty links and add some quality links. Once you get the message, submit a reconsideration request stating that it happened because of some negative seo to your site and also mention that you've successfully removed all those links. If you got luck, then things will fall in place for you. Wish you good luck
