site on Google position

I've started to optimise my website for an keyword spent the hole day yesterday adjusting here and there. my previous position was 978 but after the hard work. I wehent to check on some online checkers and it went to position 22 the only thing is I go to google type the keyword and I don't see my site. but all the online checkers say I'm ranking #22 for that keyword.
what's going on

I see what happened I was checking the rank in google.com I come #22 and 775 on google.co.uk but I need to rank better in the UK that were my business is so need to optimise for the UK to get more clients

1 day isn't really enough time to judge either. Keep up the work but give it at least a week to see real results.

you need to wait at least 2 months, to see if big g will sandbox your site

sounds like a sandbox too me. Wait it out for a while and if nothing happens in a few months start worrying
