My site is up for a week but it is still not indexed by Google and thus not reachable through their search engine. If done several things like google's sitemap-generator-plugin, submitted the sitemap and the site's url to Google in the Webmasters tool's page. Submitted my url to several bookmark sites. How long does it have to take? Please help this is my first micro niche site.

If you've already done the 'submit to index' in WMT and it's still not indexed, after a week, I'd suggest there's an issue. I have no idea what the issue is, though... did you possibly buy a penalized domain?

And please - don't PM your site to anyone. Sometimes, people asking you to PM your site are just hunting for niche ideas, and will compete against you.

Im sorry, it wasn't my intention...

BlackVL, check your robots.txt file and your robots meta tag or If u are using wordpress go to wp-admin/options-reading.php and set search engine visibility there.

If your website is not indexed yet, then possibly you might have duplicate content in it.

To properly check if your website is indexed do this:

Write "site:yourdomain.com" in the search engine.

Edit: Sorry posted in wrong thread

I had a new site (created yesterday) indexed in less than 12 hours, here's what I did:

  1. Submitted my site to all major search engines
  2. Ping the home page using Pingler.com
  3. Shared my site on Twitter
  4. Shared my site on Facebook (my timeline and niche-related groups)
  5. Made a post about my new site on another niche forum (a forum I have been active in for a month so far)
  6. Added a signature link on forums (can't here on BHW)
  7. Added link to site in forum profiles
  8. Pinged items 5, 6, and 7 using Pingler.com

I've done this every time I've made a new site, and it always takes less than 18 hours for me to get a site indexed. If your site is large, it might take a bit longer to get the whole site indexed. Whatever you do, I recommend you don't do any BH stuff on your new site.

How can you tell when a domain is banned or penalized by Google?

All I do is put up a sitemap, go into WMT and click on fetch as googebot. It instantly indexes your site, or it has for me every time I have done it, usually within minutes..

Thanks for the replies.

1. I will never share my sites through PM or on threads.
2. Robots.txt was there and in a way it is meant to be.
3. 'Googled' site:mydomain.com and all the pages were found, so what does this mean?
4. I pinged my site with pingler at the test finished complete without errors or something.
5. I recently bought a SEO Ranking service only they were blog post related, will this affect the indexing?

Thanks y'all

you can try to fetch as url and submit to high social bookmarking site and use ping to booster.
Or you can try to review you new site from good site.

I've got duplicate content because pages don't display my categories' content. How to solve this? And is this really the thing way the site is not indexed yet?

Share your site on Facebook and Twitter.

Share your site on Facebook and Twitter.
So I should make a Twitter and Facebook Account for the website? Or just post a tweet or message with a link from any account?

You need to tell us a little bit more, do you have content? Is it a new domain? I don't submit sitemaps until I have at least a few articles.

Post your site on a Tweet, like "OMG OMG OMG check out this cat getting raped by a turtle WTF? #turtlerape #wtf #omg http://yourlinkhere.com/"

BAM, indexed in 5 minutes.

It is two weeks old domain and I submitted the sitemap when it had 4 500+ word articles.

HAHA I will try that rightaway!

If all your pages show up when you use the "site:" operator, then your site is indexed.
