Site not getting traffic even though it's #1

I have a website that is ranking #1 in Google for a keyword, below you can see some statistics for this keyword extracted from the G keyword tool, and I'm not getting the traffic I'm supposed to get at all! I barely get 5 visitors a day and I'm one of them. I thought this is a meta issue, so I tweaked it several times but still no positive effect.

There are many sponsored ads in the SERPs, is that probably why? Have I missed out something? Is there anything else I can do?

First thing that comes to mind is that you actually don't rank #1. Have you checked with your cookies and cache cleared? Just open a browser in por...I mean incognito mode and check again. If you visit your site and then do the search, it'll show your site first even if it really does not rank as number one...

I've seen an organic #1 rank in the SERPS become worthless because Google expanded their already saturated real estate and pushed all organic listings below the fold. Before Google did that, traffic was "ok." Without seeing the keyword, it is difficult to say. But keep in mind Google's ad clicks were just reported to be up 45%. Considering penguin knocked out a lot of MFA sites, one can safely assume Google is continuing their push to monetize as much of the first SERPS as they can and it is indeed working for them at our expense.

I actually did make checks from different computers and networks, but just checked to make sure it's still in place, and it's real.

If that's real then SEO for profits will become useless. If you get non-targeted traffic where there are no bidders on the keywords then there's nothing to win but to waste time and money.

You might only be #1 in your area (try searching from a diff location/comp). Also, sometimes the traffic estimates are way off on google keyword

Are you sure its 2900 exact match or broad match? It could be like 30 exact match...

Use pagewash dot com to check your rankings.

Or Rank Checker by SEOBook.

And keep in mind, that you get only about 40% of the "exact match" traffic, because of the paid ads.

If your #1 ranking is legitimate (which I would still make sure it is), then what you might be running into is a combination of factors. One of which is obviously the paid ads at the top pushing your listing down, and another might be your Meta Title. Is it attractive and enticing enough to get searchers to click on it? Or does it look spammy? You can be #1 but if your Title tag is unattractive, people will just skip over it and click on the next listing.

Just something to consider.

I can definitely tell that the site is in the same position throughout the whole country.

If you actually knew what those terms are and have used the tool yourself, you wouldn't ask me that question. In the screenshot you can clearly see the brackets under Keyword. Sorry for that.

I checked again for the sake of it and another source tells me I'm #1. I've had this position for a while, only a small interruption last month when I stuffed more keywords to rank for but I removed them. Don't you think I should've got at least some new visitors every day? The meta ain't the issue it seems, I tried many words and keywords.

The site is actually a PR2 one with an inner page of PR3...

If there is no solution for this then I'll simply sell the site..

It depends on different factors. Are the number 2-5 websites ranking for the same keyword authority ones like about, wikipedia ?

June 2012 shows 1900 exact match searches, is that correct?

If so, 1900x0.40=760 = more realistic monthly volume

760/30 = roughly 25, is what you should be getting on daily basis. However, since you're saying there are lots of ads, then your site could be getting less than 40% of the overall traffic, which would bring that daily figure to pretty much what you're getting right now...5-10 visitors a day.

Am having the same problem with OP, exact match of 2900, with 3 sites in the champagne box, and can bearly get 20 UV a day. And the site is ranking no 1 when checked on BB, VPS, home pc, and office pc. Something is wrong here, I feel for OP

If I recall correctly, they've done it before, and I'm certain they'll do it again. It's their site, and they'll do whatever they have to, to earn more profit.

I wish I would be getting 25 UV a day, that would make me satisfied but the problem is bigger than that, is that I'm getting absolutely nothing.
The few visitors you see are me and the site owners checking out my site from the links I placed.

The traffic this month should be significantly higher as compared to the statistics of the same month last year. So there has to be a higher probability of getting some traffic, some freaking clicks. I'm so pissed at Google. They say "we're striving to provide best user experience" yet they allow any faggot advertise his shitty ecommerce (where is the quality and information?) and be at the top. It doesn't take that much either, buy a few coupons and you're in the real #1 spot.

Plug the site into Webmaster for an idea on Impressions, if it does measure up to the projected sum then the other suggested issues could be the reason; Ads above Organic listings etc.....

same thing happens to me with some sites i ranked number 1 in hugh searched exact

and got no traffic at all but my website ranks with sharedsites articles

and no body visited my website so i stopped wasting my time and effort doing seo
