I migrated one of my other websites to my main website about a month ago and my keyword rankings have dropped a couple spots (5-6 spots). It has been 24 days so far and I was just wondering if these rankings will slowly go back to normal.

Would love some feedback from anyone that has done this before.

I always found you would slip back to behind the best you had until months later, once I had implemented more content and backlinks and/or SEO changes. But in this industry, you have to be prepared for upwards, downwards, and sideways, so keep on keeping on! If this is the best your site can be, be prepared for that and adjust your plan to get back to the heights of your former glory.

Yes, this was expected. Was the main domain older than the ones from where you have migrated those posts? Did old domains had higher backlink profile?

As @Panther28 said, you have to be prepared for the ups and downs. However I think 28 days is a long wait for rankings to recover... well, wait for few more days and meanwhile start building links to the newly migrated posts, that should help.

If you migrated your articles on a completely different domain, this is expected. Google sees every domain differently.

It depends on how you migrated. Full 301 1:1 ?

Personally, I've migrated a ton of site and I always do a canonical 1:1 and keep it there for around 1-1.5yr (renewing old domain if necessary)

Then after this period, I proceed with the full 301 1:1 and by the end of the renewal period I leave it expiring, unless the domain had some reputation before (enough to be wise to keep).

It depends on how you migrated. Did you use 301 redirects + necessary redirects to the relevant content? Essential to keep all technical issues that can be during the migration. Check this guide it might help understand: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/site-migration-traffic-drop/406917/
