Hi,

my site got indexed yesterday for a super low competitive keyword.

But it is not ranked in the top1000.

Normally when i get indexed for those super easy keywords i always land in the top10.

So i am just wondering what is going on here. Any help is appreciated.

You need content, SEO etc.....takes WAY more than just getting indexed to get ranked

i understand what you mean but google bot is more smarter then ever. I am sure you must be talking about EMD and now it do not work any more. You have to develop high quality content with quality backlinks. I know there are many tools and softwares which claims you to rank in top 10 within couple of weeks. They will also present to you that group of people who is thinking like me are fool and they can still rank but within couple of weeks or days, those sites gets slap and come to the beginning of everything so i suggest you to develop good quality content....

If a site is new, do some PDF distribution, 5-10 PR4 blog comments. It will land up in top 100 if it's not at all competitive..

The competition is ridiculous, there are almost no websites that have a few links in the top 10. Only a few authority pages that are not even optimized.

OP is talking ABSOLUTE truth. if you get indexed for SUPER low kws - you have to skyrocket in few days ( i prefer building such websites ) as i just need tons of cheap writers and enjoy daily traffic without any true off site seo).

this problem happened to me few times, getting indexed but no reasonable rank. And in my case a problem was - domain. I used to buy old domains (still indexed), thing is that those domains had some kind of penalty. Now i go with new domains and in 3 weeks i already got 78 kws ranking in top10 (monthly searches 700-3500)

maybe this the case for you too. Do you use brand new domain or you bought one?

Great response. I bid and won a domain on godaddy auctions, but it is just an aged domain, there are no backlinks at all, so it would be strange if it had a penalty, but maybe it needs a longer time to get indexed properly or so ? I really have no clue. I purchased an old domain because i want to build an authority site around this super easy keywords.

Thing is that backlinks can fanish in time, and no majestic nor ahrefs can show any of it left on domain, yet penalty can stay for ages. It is alway good to buy old domains with PR and make them as tier1 (without fooprints).

Just try to buy new domain and to target those kws

those are few of my super low competition kws (brand new domain) - no off page seo done (just few yahoo answers with links) - 16 days result - some kws volume dont show - this is bug in serpfox end.

Are you really sure about this ???

I added my site also in quotes into google, it is showing not a single link, nothing at all.

In archive.org the site has always the same entry over the past years, where there is no content at all, just a homepage with no posts, nothing.

Dude, i am not sure about anything considering seo ( i just can speculate based on seo knowledge sources + my experience) (pretty sure even Math Cutts doesn't know EXACTLY how G algo works )

i am just saying stuff out of my experience, i tried same project with 8.5 years domain and had no luck in 4 weeks, all kws ranked in top100, that is all, no up movements, stayed at 70s-120s spots in G.

this is picture of SAME kws with brand new domain.

the logic dictates that it must be domain itself, as i did not change a thing (same hosting, same ip, same webmasters, same analytics, same adsense, same article writing style, same inpage seo, adsense code ....blah blah)

the only thing that is different is domain

Thanks buddy.

Seo stuff seems to be so counter intuitive sometimes... it is just weird.

I will register a new domain and try it out.

My question, and not to insult the OP, but a question never the less. Was your onsite SEO done properly? On site SEO can affect, more often than not, the keyword rankings on your site. There have always been rumors about how you can over optimize the onsite, and although sometimes true, the basic on site SEO that is done greatly helps the rankings such as proper meta tags, alt attributes, titles, descriptions, so on and so forth. If your onsite, in my experience, is not done correctly, you will have a harder time ranking even for low hanging fruit. Hope this helps.

Yeah it is decent imho. 1% keyword density. h1 Title. I do not use description since i have always ranked without description, the fun thing is for every website, that i optimize my description it drops a few places, after i have ranked it, that has been a fact for me while testing a lot of sites, since that looks more natural i guess. I remember one year ago i even ranked better with no content and title only and got pulled back after i added some.

Hi guys,
I own a job board in Ghana. the website is 8 months now and my pages are indexed but i dont rank for "jobs in ghana" keyword at all

Any help would be appreciated

First, give it some time. But to higher the chances of getting ranked you should add content and build links to your site. Don't build just any links, avoid spam, and make sure your tier1 backlinks are good and preferably contextual - quality over quantity.
