Hey guys,

So my friends niche site has been hacked and when we try to go to it, Chrome gives us the Malware warning, when we proceed at own risk it says Google couldn't find the site. He also can't access wp-admin. Is there any way we can at least get the content from the site. Or some way to remove the malware to access the site?

Your friend should also check the ticket system for his provider, he might be in danger of them closing down the site if it's getting malware warnings. Letting the host know about the breach should be done sooner rather than later, so they can take steps to protect his data. Either way, this is a good time to plan a backup system, even if that's manually FTP'ing the files to his computer weekly.
 
He's been in contact with the host, it seems they don't know much. I'll find out what exactly they said. Basically all we wanted was his content so that we could start the site over fresh on a new domain, but it seems there is no way to get the articles that were posted to his site, as he didn't save them. So if he can access File Manager on cpanel, is there any way we can get the content/articles from there? Is there a file there that we could get and use a program to open in to see the content? Like maybe using Dreamweaver or something?

Have you tried using the wayback machine on archive.org? Or maybe getting google's cached version of the website. I would imagine either if not both of these methods should work if you just want to get the content back.
 
If he can access the files in File Manager, he should be able to download everything (I'm pretty sure they even allow you to download everything as a zip file). He can use Dreamweaver or any other WYSIWYG to view the files (even his browser). Just be wary of loading pages if you don't know how the site was hacked or aren't sure what a file is supposed to look like and/or do.

If he was running WordPress or other blogging software, he's going to have to download the database contents as well. phpMyAdmin will let him dump the SQL (including the data).

I assume they are 'use with caution' kind of hosting.Otherwise its just a simple case for professional hosting providers., if its not your database is what was hacked, you will be OK. If you don't have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins, using ftp rename wordpress folders.Please note to make sure to keep a copy of everything including a full backup of your database from now on.
 
For future reference, if it is a Wordpress site, try the UpDraftPlus plug in (free) to automatically backup the site. Seems to work good for me.
 
I have been in this situation before, there is some file in the hosting has to be removed, It's better to contact hosting provider, they will help you out to fix this issue. Cheers
 
Try the above said ways to recover your articles. May be you recover it or not, change your hosting provider. Thats my kind advice :)
