Site hacked: How much time to recover?

My site has been hacked and the hacker created random pages that redirected to a Japanese seller, because I had my backup done, I have resolved the problem. However, my rankings drop severely. As many people already said, the only solution to this problem is to add high-quality links and publish content regularly and I'm doing this. How much time will it take to get the rankings back (I didn't receive a manual google penalty)? Thanks
