I think my journey with this website is coming to an end. 12 months old site with Zero AI content, no link building aside from a few HARO links is down significantly.

However, this is my first site which was just starting to earn a few bucks.

Other competitors site are still up and running tho! I think WhiteHat techniques is obviously not worth it anyways because google still hits you anyways.

Black hat wins afterall

Did anyone also got this significant hit?
Any tips on what to do?

Just posted a similar post a few minutes ago. 1 year of white hat work went in vain. So, I am going to focus on black hat methods now because no reason to go the white hat route.
Exactly bro. What's the essence of doing WhiteHat when google still eventually rewards you with massive drops. Going for black hat now and ain't starting another site from scratch

Go grey/black hat, according to google, even link building isnt "white hat" so 90% white hats are practically black hats coping anyways.

First of all, just out of curiousity, have you checked if their is any trend with what lost rank?

did you lose all your snippets ? (can be checked from semrush)

Did you recently start using google index api or anything like that?

Anything you feel like mentioning to help us out?

When you overoptimize your sites and say that you have been doing white hat you are only lying yourself. ANY mechanism to try to forcefully rank, it's technically black hat for Google.
If you go into SURFERSEO and follow the stupid recommendations on putting dog food 7 times in your dog food pillar page, you are only dooming your site given the latest updates. Much I have read in this and other forums about this topic.

While I understand your concern, I personally disable Seo tools for writing content and only write for readers. Still I have been hit by Google multiple times before. Most updates now randomly hit websites. Surprisingly black hat ones are doing much better.

This is your second comment about this, what is wrong with Google Indexing API? I activated this on Rank Math a few days ago, I'll disable it for now....

please dont make any major changes based on that simple comment alone
Im just looking to collect information on this because everything has not been fine for everyone, yet many people still keep
recommending it so part of me wants to find more data on if what ive seen is actually happening or not.
Your site may or may not have issues depending on if this is real or in our heads and just a massive coincidence.

None of the 2 have specifically confirmed or denied that they made this change recently so unfortunately nothing was learned.

you can go here and read what I have said so I dont need to retype it. (images I posted will not show in quote)

So first of all, Mr. Madsteel, I appreciate you need not do that, I also dont think im allowed to sell services or anything like that here if im not paying.

I also have not seen your website so I dont want to take money from someone when im not even sure I can help them.

If your domain is newer then indexing problems might just be a given at scale.

Mister Lukey372 just recommended using the google indexing API, and not to discredit his own personal experience with it, I want to add some consideration before you do this on your website.

If you are unaware, many people have been linking google indexing API to entire websites being shadow banned. Where your content is indexed but it doesnt show at all.

I myself have observed this on a smaller website I had that just so happened to have this set up.

I am not saying that it 100% will happen, or that we are sure this is the cause but it has been a common factor in some of the deranks.

I will just ad some links and anecdotes for you to read.

SEroundtable post basically looking at the conversation.

My personal website which was on a slighly aged domain roughly 4 days after I set up indexing api on it through rank math.

Now im not saying that this is 100% the cause, no one knows yet, but all im saying, is that you need to look if you are willing to potentially risk it.

I have removed the API etc and tried different things and still cant get this one to even get a single impression. I submit things to try aswell and nothing working so far.

On this other domain, I added the API and in a week impressions started dropping to 0, I removed it, and things went back up for a bit but then now it is practically dead.

View attachment 278215

the second red mark is when I removed it.

For all I know, the issue might be rank math related, and not the API, but I havent tested anything seperate like that.

So these are some of the rare failures you will see me post.

I like the domain names however so im not gonna give up on them, ideally ill figure something out when

I have the time and resources.

@cyrus451 I just noticed you made a post asking about this same thing so I figured id @ you

(link to post for whoever wants to read whatever people say there, everyone gonna have mixed opinions)

@Almostbr0ke

basically just light theme (default 2023, astra etc etc) better hosting (benefit varies as you will need to point your nameservers to ezoic in the end anyways).

Also as I mentioned with images not being near the top of my pages, and not needing to be loaded in at the start, hence lazy loading etc etc and ezoic built in caching stuff on leap.

Keep in mind some settings on leap may break your menu bar on mobile so you need to check and play around with it to get best result on your site without

having issues. Do not trust ezoic to optimize leap for you, those f*****s will set you on generic settings and will not even check if it breaks the site or not.

Found this out the hard way because people were emailing me that they couldnt use my site navigation after I had ezoic set up my leap one time.

I told them about it, they took off leap........ who every I was dealing with appearently was either too lazy to actually fix my site, or didnt know how to do

anything but press and off or on button. I had to fix it myself from the settings and it took like 10 minutes.

Anyways, let me stop there before I end up ranting about ezoic again, I do that enough already.

Just because they pay me doesnt mean they dont piss me off.

Hey, wait a while, the update is still running. Don't rush and make any conclusions before it is officially ended. If this will will cheer you up a bit, my site with AI content+human editing , declined in impressions, also noticed that out of 205 indexed page yesterday, today I have only 168. It was new website, around 33 days old, so G killed me early. But will wait till the end to see where I will be. If it is dead will start again, if not will carry on.

Black Hat in which sense? Sites that have been automatically linked with thousands of links?
From an on-page perspective, which kind of action would you consider BH to be doing much better?

OP that CTR is dog shit.....from my experience any website that has a CTR lower than 5% is vulnerable to any G update....I bet you 100 $ that your Avg time spent on website is lower than 1 minute.

BH or WH with those stats your are vulnerable to any G update.

Curious to know it this an aged domain
They typically bounce quicker

No offence, OP.... But you already bought Haro links in the past, so how is your site "Whitehat" in any way, then?

Despite the links have been "down significantly", you still bought the Hero backlinks anyway. It's likely Google have sniffed them out and penalised all sites participating in the backlink network. And, you should know by now, all site's data were collected BEFORE the core update rolls out. So it could be months old data, or even older. So you were caught - simple as that. It's like saying "Oh, I stole once but it is just a small candy and it was a long time ago." - it is still stealing regardless.

I don't want to sound mean or f*** up, but you obviously made a blackhat move and now you claim your site is whitehat and feign innocence? It doesn't roll that way.

But, but, but to be fair with you, many whitehat webmasters were hit still and some claim their blackhat sites thrived.

I would just advise all SEOers and webmasters to own a few websites, with different SEO strategies each, to mitigate any risks.

No offense. I didn't buy HARO links. All the links I got were all free and that's like 2 to 3 months ago, I just got featured on a few top publications and got a linked to my website. How's that black hat tactics?

Thanks for the advice tho

I previously didn't have any featured snippet before so it's not that. I didn't use any google index api or anything like that.

I just continuously publish contents and got a few free HARO links. Although my publishing rate slowed down 2 months ago

You guys stress over some of these things. In Google's eye, what's the difference between his article getting viral and some non-spammy news websites deciding to link back WITH him buying Haro links?

The only person who knows this is him.

The only mistake I keep beating myself for making is not building my social media pages especially Pinterest, I actually started but they suspended my account and up on till now, I can't say why; nevertheless, I should start again.
