Somebody's getting negative seo'd and people are saying that's the result of the latest google core algo update? When did Google start spamming sites with porn-related anchor texts?
Yes, the dip in traffic could be from the recent update.
OP, dilute those anchors by building more links. If you have the budget, then go with stronger guest posts/niche edits. If not, even comment/profile links will help.
The effects of disavowed links takes time. In fact, you may have to wait until the next update for Google to acknowledge them.

If you worked at google you would have either been fired for thinking it sucked OR would be been absorbed as part of the collective and think everything is just fine.

If that were the case then I'd have been changed by the higher ups in many places throughout the years.
I've always said Google sucks. I've never changed.
Google destroyed the WWW when they turned links into currency. Nothing will change that fact.
