Site Flipping - Faking Traffic? Good Idea?

Ive never flipped a site on flippa but I have been looking at getting into it recently. Heres what Im thinking so far - I just need some advice on the ins and outs of flippa.

• Buying an old expired domain with a decent PR.
• Converting it into a link directory or perhaps a contextual link blog charging people monthly to have a link/blog post + link.
• Faking the age of the content so it looks as old as the site.
• Head over to DP and sell some links = monthly revenue $30-100.

Ive been looking at what is selling on Flippa, and a site like this recently sold for nearly 2k with a monthly revenue of $60. The only difference was it had 3000 uniques a month.

This is the only thing, I can claim a PR (from old domain), claim a monthly rev from DP links, provide a nice looking site, but it wont have any real traffic. So I was thinking of perhaps using the traffic script on here or even buying traffic for a month or two after the sale and then cutting it so I could claim some traffic?

Would I get away with this? How does the traffic claim work on Flippa? Do I even need to claim traffic if I have a income from the site?

Or could I just sell it and say that you have to buy traffic, thats what I was doing? lol

For traffic claims on Flippa you generally upload an overview of your Google Analytics account in PDF format. Flippa shows you exactly how to download your traffic stats to PDF, and this verifies your listings traffic claims.

Thought this might be the case. I would need to either photoshop it or hold the site for a month before hand. Not really ideal.

Do you think the site would sell if the traffic was minimal but it was making an income?

This will be a stupid question I guess, but what happens after u sell the page? I mean u sold featured links but the new owner will most likely take them down. So for those links do u simply repay the guy who paid u for them?

You may/may not be able to edit the PDF file, which would in fact allow you to fake the analystics, or you could simply route the traffic though a double-meta refreshed URL, so the traffic source is blank/direct. Obviously direct traffic isn't the best sort of traffic you'll want when selling a website, organic traffic is, but you could make up some bullshit about getting a lot of traffic though watermarked images? :S
