I've used GSA to add backlinks, added only indexer and article option. Had it on for a couple of hours. After I finished checked back and was once ranked 5th spot on page 2 on google for a keyword, now its no where to be found. All that work I did before fore nothing :(

Not necessarily Extremeboy!!! It could be running though the dance. Listen, i have 2yrs old sites dancing in the serps right now even disappearing for 24hrs before coming back. So watch your listing especially now.

No big deal if your site disappears for a day or two, it happens sometimes.

Is this a new domain? Sometimes I see Google rank a site well and then it disappears for a week or so, then it comes back. Could be the case here or could be like the others have said - bad backlinking strategy.

new site normally will disappear for 2-7 days when you give excessive backlinks.

Probably a dance. If you search your URL in the google search and get no results, your deindexed.

Anytime you think there may be an issue or update to googles algo, just head over to the mozcast: http://mozcast.com/

Haha, try reading the GSA forums before playing with it! It's quite the powerful tool :)
Just try what's said above, do site:<your website's name> to see if it's de-indexed. You could also check to see how many backlinks you have on ahrefs to see just how many you built hehe.

Don't jump the gun here. Like others have said a brand new domain bounces around all overt the place. Sit tight for a few days. If its gone then, you have problems. This is just SEO.

This has been happening to my site as well lately. May be happening to others. I'm a GSA SER user as well. Though I don't think it is a GSA issue. Seems other sites shift positions to in the listings when it happens. I don't know for sure what is going on. My domain is over 2 years old. But here's how I deal with it quickly. Hope this helps.

Here's a trick I discovered that may help you if your site disappears from Google's search results and you know you are not penalized by checking site: yourwebsite - to see if your site is pulled up by Google. If your site is still indexed try these steps:

    1. Go to your Google Webmaster Tools account and navigate to SEARCH TRAFFIC and then sub-category MANUAL ACTIONS (See Screenshot). Make sure there's no warning etc there.

    1.jpg

    2. If all good - first try going to CRAWL category and then sub-category SITEMAPS. Check the sitemap box as shown in the following screenshot. Then select to resubmit the sitemap. Confirm and resubmit it.

    2.jpg

    3. That may do the trick. Wait 15-30 minutes and see if your site is back where it was in a key word/term search result. If still no then go to the FETCH AS GOOGLE sub-category in the same CRAWL category. Select for Google to fetch the site. When asked if you want just this main url or all - select all and press fetch. Log out and wait 15-30 minutes and your site should be right beck where it was before it went missing in action.

Tech480, you broke the first rule of thumb. If you are using BH tools on your site, then keep Google's shit off of it and out of Webmaster Tools. Secondly, you bumped a thread that is three months old.

Sorry, just thought it would be helpful. I've been reading this is happening here and there all over the Net. That method does work though - had to do it more than once.

Also, I only do local level SEO work, not global. Nothing on a large scale. I have several accounts for local clients in the webmaster tools - never had a problem. I do hear you though...
