Hey Fellow BHers,

I have an Amazon Niche site, with very minimal links. The site was working fine until yesterday, the site disappeared for all the keywords from Google. I checked on Google search with "site:" and there were no results. So, I thought it would be a manual penalty, but then I head to webmaster tools and there is no manual penalty.

One weird thing that I noticed is that when I submit the sitemap, part of the sitemap shows an error "General HTTP Connection - Domain Not Found", but the domain is accessible.

I tried searching on forums, WordPress support, but none has the answer to this. I believe BHW guys can surely help :)

It could be you got deindexed and the message just hasn't appeared yet in your WMT account. Have you by chance forgotten to renew your domain name? Even if you did I doubt it would be deindexed so quickly.

Few Days ago I forgot to verify my email, and the registrar had put hold on the domain, but I verified the email and the domain came back online. This time around the domain is online too, and there is no message in WMT (24 hours done).

There are people here who still belief that your sites never get deindexed 0_o,

But that nonsense aside, if you wanna know for sure create some new content on your site, go to WMT and fetch it as google, if it isn't in the index within 24 hours you can be sure that your site is deindexed and you will never see it back again.

Weird, no messaged yet. 48 Hours Done.

Was it Bluehost? This just happened to one of my customers. I hadn't heard this before. I noticed that my customer's DNS was pointing to "suspended-domain.com" Sad thing is she called Bluehost and they told her nothing was wrong with the DNS. I had to convince her that the guy was wrong and that she's missing some email.

Anyway, that's your problem. My customer's site went down for 72 hours.

ETA: Once she found the confirmation email in her spam inbox and confirmed, it was about 48 hours before DNS propagated.

No, this is bad info. His site was probably listed as suspended and it dropped out. It's very possible it was removed because of it. He shouldn't panic just yet and should hold off. It's true that he could have a penalty, but I wouldn't throw that at him just yet until the technical issues are resolved.

OP, when your site comes back online (DNS fully propagated) resubmit a sitemap in Search Console.

Google won`t deindex site so quickly when domain gets suspended. Better explain what kind of Amazon site you had. Was it full of some kind of scraped content from amazon? Cause Google lately sees some amazon sites (or any other affiliate sites) as doorway pages and deindexes those.

Cheers

Really now? That sound awful. We're using bluehost as of the moment and haven't encountered something nasty as this. Should we switch now?

Yes, they will. DNS issues are a major problem. But you are right in a way as well since he said Amazon affiliate. All he can do is wait and see. The problem is that he has no notice in Search Console, so that's why I'm leaning towards technical issues first.

No, just make sure you answer the email! lol I'm not sure if the client's registrar is BlueHost too, but she had no idea what was going on. She said the site was up and down all day, so then I sent her a message saying her site was down and her DNS is pointed to suspended-domain.com. She called BlueHost to confirm and they told her nothing was wrong with her DNS. LOL She took my advice and went through her spam box and found the confirmation email. As soon as she did that, her domain came back but only after DNS propagated again.

I did a search using suspended-domain.com and found a stack overflow thread on it. I've never seen a registrar to that before.

Goodluck with your site. Let us know what happened. Seems like you got de-indexed but didnt receive a message yet

You only get a message when you have a manual a manual problem (i belief) but i have sites completely deindexed and when i add them to WMT nothing, no messages even not after a week... if it doesn't show after fetching just clone the site and start over, you will lose less time over it, it is like ripping of a bandage, if you do it fast it hurts less (unless you wax your pubichairs, that shit always hurts :) )

It's simple - your site has been automatically penalised and deindexed. Start a new site.

They (google) has been automatically removing sites on search that does not pass their quality standards even without WMT notification. That happened to me a lot of times.

Nope - you get a message no matter how it occurs. This is bad info.

That is not true, i lost a view sites that were in GWT and they got deindexed en i have never received any message, so it isn't bad info in this case.
