ok I definitely get a certain percentage of sites de-indexed on a regular basis, but usually for understandable means. this one, however, I am totally clueless as we did no link building and have no external links at all that are 'follow' links. any thoughts? perhaps the adsense placement?

just use this method and it should come back quickly

On your Blog create a post using some keywords, Example: "cheap timeshare vacations"

Then write something keyword rich in the post like

We have added a new section for Cheap Timeshare Vacations. All the timeshare we feature on this page will be bargain priced less than or at $1000. If you find a timeshare that you would like to purchase please click on the ad number to the left of the listing to see more information on the selected timeshare. Remember, these inexpensive timeshare vacations go fast, so take a look and keep checking back for more cheap timeshare.

submit the complete link of your blog to Digg.com and part of the text and in less than five minutes you will have that link indexed in the search engines.

One site can get indexed with just 1 link.
But usually more than not it will get deindexed after the initial boost it got the first time.
And will not comeback before a couple of days have passed or never comeback until you build more links to it.

All sites needs links, build some links to the page and you will get it back.

Also look at the tip you got from antx16

This is the so called sandbox that some talk about. None of my sites have ever experience that effect... and the reason is that I build about 20 links per day to my websites.

What where you doing with the site? Doorway pages that's a easy way to say bye-bye to your indexed site.

I think the site has never been indexed in the 1st place since you registered in Sept.

create a sitemap and register it in Google Webmaster Tool or write an article evolving around the niche of your site and submit it to a few article directories.

do not use the submission forms on the search engines to submit your site, it would take 6 weeks which is rather long to be indexed.

Actually it was indexed, but thanks for replying.

Here is something interesting, though, thoughts appreciated. So selfactivities was de-indexed after a nice initial boost in Google (again, not penalized, but de-indexed). Nothing black hat going on at all. I followed the advice here and begin building links again, including Digg submission. Nothing yet, but we'll see.

Here's an interesting one though. So I have another site that is completely useless with no data no links no nothing that got indexed somehow and has been for some time hxxp:gasmileagecomparison[.]net - now this site remains indexed, obviously its not drawing much traffic, but how does it get by, why does G00g bother keeping it indexed? Because no one is going there? Probably because there is no oddsense on the page?

Obviously, this just proves a point I stress all the time - That the Big G can do whatever they feel like and make everybody's lives miserable. I have never seen a company wield their sword as much as G*o*o*g*l*e does.

For the record, I have had two of my sites de-indexed for no apparent reasons and well-written high traffic Blogs taken from PR5 to PR0.

I have had this on my personal blog which I did no link buliding for. It was gone for a week or two, completely out of the index then came back out of nowhere to the first page of results for my name.

I however had another site more recently just get knocked from the rankings for my converting keywords altogether, it's still indexed just nowhere in site for my keywords. That is what really hurts, at least there's still yahoo/msn :(
