Site crashed after google update

After updating the algorithm in August, my exit dropped a little, then in September and now in another one it dropped completely. Google's most recent updates hit me hard, but I can't understand why, as the content on my website is completely original, written by a writer who understands the subject. The site has good relevance authority, but it still plummeted.

Please, could someone give me some light? Because from what I read from the latest updates, my website does not apply to the adjustments made. Therefore, it didn't make sense for it to fall that much, while others less relevant than mine rose.

Can anyone help me, give me any tips or tell me what I might be doing wrong?

My first tip would be to remove your website link. You never know where your competitors will be lurking around.

they want your money. "Successful" capitalist companies always want our money, it's how they become "successful" (yes, I'm actually being serious, I'm not trolling you)

that's one of google's specialties: they hunt down the good and honest people to replace them with hackers and wrong-doers. White hat sites almost always tank, it's just a matter of time.

Since you keep losing rankings and money go full blackhat and never look back. Familiarize yourself with PBNs, doorway pages, cloaking, spamdexing and all of that yummy stuff that the googlebot gobbles up like chocolate, and you might bank hard.

the sooner you'll stop mourning after the lost rankings the faster you'll sober up and start doing what's "right": the wrong!

you can try spamming your site until it fully tanks or starts ranking again. Or, like Jerry Seinfeld once said "if every instinct you've ever had is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right"

I can't read Portugese but a quick look makes me wonder if the issue is the amount of affiliate links, combined with lack of evidence you actually reviewed the product? I know google is trying to crack down on top 10 lists with no real world product experience.

First recommendation: Remove your URL from the post.

Third recommendation: Keep working. Wait for the October update to finish, a lot of people were affected by the update for no apparent reason. If at the end of the update, you don't recover in the SERP, you will have to buy backlinks and rebuild authority again.

I'm from Brazil too and I was also affected. In my case a lot of spam site took over the first page.

Do you have videos in your posts also by any chance? Posts with videos in them got a hit with the last update

only 3 articles had video.

I am unable to edit my post here on the forum. The edit button is gone. How do I do?

One of my sites most popular page has gone from the main SERP it ranks for, but it's really odd because it's a popular & compeititve keyword but now Google is only returning 38 (mostly irrelevant results). Is this related to the indexing bug?

Other pages actually gained ranking position for other keywords, no idea what's wrong. Does google ban keywords? I've only ever seen the 'omitted' term when searching for total nonsense keywords or very obscure exact matches.

The recent core update was brutal. I have seen sites with crazy good backlink profile coming down. So, there is nothing wrong on your part.

Indeed, I consider this update to be the most impactful one in the past few years, since the 2018 update.

I lean towards two perspectives when discussing the decrease in website traffic during this update:

First: Google genuinely wants to make money from paid services (e.g., running ads), so it's evident that it doesn't favor SEO practitioners. Creating some disruption to submerge your website, pushing you to pay for improvements to restore your website to its initial position.

Second: When examining your website, I see that the majority of the content consists of list-style review articles. In reality, you may believe that your articles are good, but from the readers' perspective, they might not be entirely helpful. Your articles may simply be more detailed than others on the same topic, with non-duplicated content, but they lack personalization. I believe that in the near future, Google will place even more emphasis on the E-A-T criteria when evaluating website content.

For example, consider a keyword like 'which sunscreen is the best?'. Ideally, Google would highly rate that article if it were written by a reputable beauty blogger, sharing her real-life experiences after using several sunscreen products in the market.

However, in the articles we often encounter, the content is merely a compilation of information about the manufacturer, product ingredients, a bit of pros and cons rewritten from the product's main functions. There is absolutely no personal experience or expert perspective.

May be anecdotal, but my issues went away after removing AAWP from my "pillar" articles & only having affiliate content under gear recommendations. I have heard people saying the last few updates are brutal to affiliate sites. Screenshot is one of my bigger keywords, traffic came back around 5 pm yesterday, I would guess today will come in about 80% of pre update.

Isn't it unfair? You do good things and play by the rules, and Google punishes you.

These last few updates have been hell on a lot of us. It seems Google doesn't have a damn clue what is going on.

During the September update, Google said basically to freshen content.

Believe it or not, we are still playing nice in their sandbox and are testing white hat strategies, but have not seen any success yet.

We played by the rules, we had content in multiple niches ranking in top 1-3 only get turned into top 7-10 or right off a cliff...Looking at multiple search intents we are finding garbage sites with terrible EVERYTHING (content, uxui, responsive, speed, technical...) has basically replaced us.

Pretty sure Google knows they went south on this last one. Don't worry I am sure they will attempt to fix it and jack it up even more.

Make sure do you promote any affiliate links on your website? If yes this is the first resone for down your website at Google August update. Also please fix the core vital on your Google search console. Then wait for few weeks I think you see the progress.

Is there any evidence behind this that affiliate links will lower rankings? Curious to know the validity of this.

try re setting the meta tags and description hope it would back again but take time .

I'm in the same niche as you, but I'm only down 30% or so. I plan to focus on updating old content, improving E-A-T (most sites neglect their about pages), interlinking existing content, and redesigning the menu/categories.
