site.com redirect to site.com/folder help

    Hello,
    I have site its pr1
    but recently i created folder and redirected using cpanel redirect option to my folder

    like
    mysite.com to mysite.com/folder/

    i built many links on mysite.com so i want to pass it on to other pages as well.my site is pr1 but i also want other pages to be pr1 as well
    please assist

    Also when i google mysite.com the old mysite info comes up but i want my

    mysite.com/folder/index.html to come up in google

    please assist

    if you redirect it with 301 you will be fine. It can take some time for google to drop the old result from the index though... just be patient :)

    A 301 redirect can take anything from 1-2+ weeks. Also, you can set the 'Preferred Domain' in Google Webmaster Tools.

    Note that in most cases, the best way to pass link juice/PR through a site is by using the correct internal linking structure and not through a 301 redirect. Additionally build links to the other pages.
